Abstract

The battery-operated fluorescent lamp has a miniaturised bias circuit incorporated in the lamp socket, with flicker-free starting of the lamp without a starting aid, using a blocking oscillator providing an increase in the ionisation energy. The lamp may incorporate pre-heating with reduction of the energy to 50 per cent, to increase the working life of the lamp. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compactness and reliability for use in all types of vehicle for internal or external light, or for use as pocket torch.

Description

There are currently no portable fluorescent lamps (with Exception from my developments: P 37 11 174.4, P 38 31 390.1, P 39 22 024.9) that would work economically (Luminous efficacy × lifespan = 1m / Wh). One would have to use the term Introduce "light exploitation hour" around the economically sensible Separate products from economically nonsensical ones.

The relatively high price of the high quality ballast and the Dulux fluorescent lamp, as well as the complex structure (Lamp holder and wiring) have contributed significantly to that the developments mentioned so far have not been major Scope were realized.

A logical consequence is the development of a new ballast that enables integration in the lamp base and the creation of a fluorescent lamp that can be fed directly from a direct current source; be it in the car, on the bike, or in the pocket or assembly light. Dulux fluorescent lamps in particular are ideal for this.
The fluorescent lamp with integrated ballast, further LL-MIVOG, enables the construction of powerful luminaires in minimal dimensions. A pocket lamp with 5W LL-MIVOG, throttled to 50%, provides light output like a 15 W incandescent lamp; operated with 4 AA batteries, a burning time of more than 1 hour is achieved when equipped with rechargeable batteries, or approx. 3 hours when equipped with primary batteries. And that with a size of approx. 100 × 30 × 20 mm.
In the car, e.g. B. Interior lighting, with a 3W LL-MIVOG with an even smaller space, a brightness comparable to the brightness of a 10W incandescent lamp can be achieved over an almost unlimited period of time (1.5 W: 12.0 V = 0.125 A). After a burning time of 10 hours, only 1.25 Ah would be removed from the car battery.
