Abstract

The wind turbine consists of a windsock (1), of a helically wound shape. The wind flows into the helical nozzles, to turn the turbine. The helical windsock may incorporate two separate channels. These channels are identical and are twisted round one another. They may taper from the front end where the wind enters towards the rear end. The windsock is mounted on a mast (2) which allows free swivelling in azimuth through 360 deg.
