Zapfenverbindungen für Tabakpfeifenmundstücke, bei denen eine Hartgummidichtung in Anwendung kommt, sind bekannt. Zu diesem Zweck wurde bisher entweder der_; ' Mundstückzapf en mit einer Hartgummihülse umgeben, oder aber die zur Aufnahme des Mundstückzapfens bestimmte Bohrung im Pfeifenkopfteil wurde mit einer derartigen durch Feuchtigkeit nicht quellenden Hülse ausgefüttert. Während des Gebrauchs der Pfeife quillt nun bekanntlich das Holz des Pfeifenrohres durch Aufsaugen von Nikotin usw. auf, wodurch das Ablösen des Mundstückes trotz der einseitig vorgesehenen Hartgummihülse erschwert ist, und namentlich bei wiederholtem Gebrauch ist das Herausziehen des Mundstücks durch Eintrocknen des aufgesaugten Nikotins immer mit der Gefahr verbunden, daß Brüche entstehen.
ao Nach der Erfindung soll dieser Übelstand dadurch beseitigt werden, daß nicht allein der Zapfen des Mundstückes mit einem Hartgummiring umgeben wird, sondern auch in das Zapfenloch des Pfeifenrohres oder¹ »5 des kurzen Pfeifenkopfteiles ein zu dem Hartgummiring entsprechend passendes Hartgummifutter eingesetzt wird.
