Abstract

Moulded articles of polyurethane integral foam, esp. body parts for the automobile industry, are made by (1) preparing the polyol component (A-component). (2) reacting the A-component with the isocyanate component (B-component) e.g. using the RIM method and (3) subjecting the moulded component to irradiation with electrical energy such as UHF irradiation. Generally the duration of the radiation treatment is 2.5-5 mins. depending on the thickness of the article. USE/ADVANTAGE - The irradiation step gives non-reinforced and reinforced (e.g. with glass fibres) polyurethane integral foam mouldings having the same property levels as those of integral foam articles which have been subjected to a thermal post treatment at 130 deg.C for 45 mins., thus allowing greater rationalisation of the prodn. process.

Verfahren zum Herstellen von Formkörpern aus Polyurethan- Integralschaum, insbesondere Karosserieteile für die Auto­ mobilindustrie, wobei im ersten Verfahrensschritt die Polyolkomponente (A-Komponente) zubereitet und im zweiten Verfahrensschritt die A-Komponente mit der Isocyanat­ komponente (B-Komponente) umgesetzt wird, beispielsweise nach der RIM-Methode, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Formkörper im Rahmen eines sich anschließenden dritten Verfahrensschrittes mittels elektrischer Energie bestrahlt werden (z.
