Die Herstellung von Gußstücken aus geschmolzenem Basalt sowie das Porösmachen derselben durch Vermischen der geschmolzenen Masse mit feuchtem Sand; wobei sich Wasserdampf bildet und sich als Dampfperlen in die Schmelzmasse einlagert, ist bekannt. Es hat dieses Verfahren, Gußstücke porös zu machen, den Nachteil, daß bei einem sehr umständlichen Verfahren die Schmelzmasse bis etwa 1q.00° oder mehr erhitzt werden muß, um Dünnflüssigkeit zu erlangen. - Den Sand mit der Masse zu vermischen, hat wiederum den Nachteil, daß die fertigen Gußstücke durch den erhaltenen sehr hohen Hitzegrad sehr spröde werden, sich nicht werk:-mäßig bearbeiten lassen und eine unschöne, dunkle Farbe erhalten.Process for making porous castings from molten Basalt chippings and the like The manufacture of castings from molten basalt as well as making them porous by mixing the molten mass with the moist Sand; whereby water vapor is formed and as vapor pearls in the melt stores is known.
