Verfahren zum Plastischmachen von Cellulosederivaten. Es wurde :gefunden, daß idiie durch Konden- sation von Acetaldehyd: bzw. Paraldehyd mit Phenolen erhältlichen Äthylidendiphenole (i.i) in hervorragendem Maße igeeignet sind, an Stelle von K ampher verwandt zu werdien. Besonders als Mittel zum Elastisch- bzw. Plastischmachen von Cellulosederivaten er- setzen diese Körper Aden Kampher in vorzüg- licher Weise .und liefern vollkommen .klage und elastische Gelluloidmassen. Dliie Äthy- lidendiphenole sind leicht löslich: in Alkohol, Aceton und Äther. B,eispiel. 25 Teile Äthyli@dendiplienol (i.i) (Annalen, 363. Bd.. S1 255) werden mit ioo Teilen Nitro- cellulose vermlischt und in einem ider üblichen Lösuivgsmittel, z. B, einer Mischung von, Al- kohol mit Aceton, zur Aufquedlunig ,gebracht. Man erhält nach Aufarbeitung einen klaren, elasbschlen Film.
