Abstract

This mixing apparatus has a mixing screw (3) which is drivable from above the vessel (1) and has a vertical rotary bearing (4, 5) below the vessel bottom (2) around a connecting piece (7) which is hingedly connected by a pin (8) to the screw shaft (6). The lower shaft end is sealed (35) relative to the vessel bottom (2). An outer sleeve (11) of the rotary bearing (4, 5) is secured to a horizontal plate (16) which is hingedly (18, 19) releasably secured to a superimposed plate (15) which is secured to the vessel bottom (2) through spacing columns (14). Thereby the shaft seal (35) is readily accessible and replacable.
