Selbstverständlich ist die Erfindung nicht auf die vorstehend im einzelnen beschriebenen Ausbildungsformen beschränkt, sondern es sind zahlreiche Abänderungen möglich, ohne jedoch von dem Grundgedanken abzuweichen, daß in einem Gegenstromwäscher die ersten Düsen mit einer Waschflüssigkeit beschickt werden, die aus Kalkstein oder gelöstem Kalkhydrat und Wasser besteht, wobei vorzugsweise Carbonsäure zur besseren Anlösung des Additivs mit Anwendung findet, wobei in der letzten Düsenebene entgegengesetzt zu den ersten Düsenebenen eine Waschflüssigkeit eingedüst wird, die ein Minus-Redoxpotential aufweist, das bevorzugt durch Zugabe von Reduktionsmittel, wie Dithionit oder über ein Reduktionsgefäß geleitet, das mit Eisenplatten bestückt ist, eingestellt wird.
