Synthetic or natural fibre or filament material for woven fabrics for industrial uses, for example filters, backing fabrics and conveyor belts, which have a cladding of a fluorine-containing polymer. The clad fibre or filament material simultaneously has high tensile strength and elasticity, is resistant to chemicals and heat, has an antiadhesive action, is lightweight, hydrophobic and resistant to hydrolysis, can be produced in any colour and is inexpensive.

Description

B e s c h r e i b u n gDescription

Ummanteltes Faser- bzw. Covered fiber or filament material and process for its manufacture The invention relates to a synthetic or natural fiber or filament material according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for its production.

Synthetic or natural fiber or filament materials made of polyamide, Polyester, polyacrylonitrile or wool, cotton have good mechanical properties such as great tensile strength, great elasticity, or low weight. For certain Areas of application, such as B. technical fabrics in the presence of chemically aggressive Media, at elevated temperatures or with special requirements on the surface quality (e.g. separating power, low static friction), however, these known fiber or Filament materials, especially because of their inadequate chemical properties, not suitable. On the other hand, fiber and filament materials made of fluorine-containing polymer, such as B. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is known, which is chemical and heat resistant and would therefore be suitable for these areas of application. However, these have PTFE materials have a relatively high price, a high specific weight and moreover may not have adequate tensile strength and elongation properties.

The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a fiber or Filamentmate.rial to create the good ones mechanical and chemical properties of the materials mentioned.

This task is performed with a fiber or filament material according to the preamble of claim 1 according to the invention by a jacket made of a fluorine-containing polymer, which in particular made of fluoroplastics such as tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene (FEP), perfluoroalkoxy-modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PFA), ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) or ethylcellulose-tetrafluoroethylene (ECTFE) can exist, solved. The sheathing material has a higher melting point, especially up to 150 ° C, as the inner fiber or

Filamentmaterial auf.Filament material.

The coated fiber or filament material according to the invention is at the same time very tensile strength and elastic, chemical and temperature resistant, non-stick effect, light, hydrophobic, hydrolysis-resistant, can be produced in all colors and inexpensive.

The coated fiber or filament material according to the invention is according to the invention produced in that the fiber or filament material through a central opening is pulled at high speed in an extrusion hose die, the fluorine-containing polymer is extruded in the form of a tube such that the tube the central fiber or filament material coated, and that the coated fiber or filament material quickly after exiting the hose tool is deterred. Despite the brief high temperature load on the inner fiber and filamentary material through the extruded sheath material becomes the interior Fiber or filament material with a lower melting point is not destroyed. This is surprisingly done by a simple quick deterrent which is preferably carried out with water.

Example A filament made from Polyterephtha3.at (Trevira; trademark from Hoechst) with a diameter of 0.4 to 0.6 mm through a middle one Opening drawn in an extrusion hose tool. Simultaneously with Hil fe des Schlaucllwerkzeuces a hose made of tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene (FEP) with a wall thickness of 0.07 mm extruded so that the tube is the inner Filament coated. The hose tool had a temperature in his head of 450 ° C and in its funnel, a. H. in the area of the exit of the hose Temperature of 3900c. The withdrawal speed of the inner filament and the outer hose was between 40 and 60 m / min. The coated material was immediately Quenched with water after exiting the hose tool. Between the inner Filament and the outer sheath did not contain any chemical or
