Description
Process for obtaining an odorless and tasteless blood powder. Blood has been used as a remedy since ancient times and in the most varied of ways Forins have been presented. The indications are known. The application was enough from the enjoyment of fresh animal blood to the most varied of compositions Preparations. With the latter, the main focus has been on the obnoxious To cover up the smell and taste of blood by means of taste corrections. That smell of blood and taste was, and still is, the chief obstacle to general therapy. In addition there is also the fact that any germs of disease in the blood can also be enjoyed and contain dangers.- If one wants to sterilize these germs by the usual method kill, so are those contained in the blood, which are important for therapy Enzymes with rendered ineffective.
The inventor has now found a method with the help of which it is possible to the blood of its unpleasant smells and flavors without the application to rid yourself of taste corrections and to destroy germs. Simultaneously but the typical components of the blood are retained .. The effectiveness of the EnzNnne is hardly influenced at all. The microscopic findings also show an image that has hardly changed.
With this mild treatment, there are primarily certain smelly ones Bases removed, which presumably owe their formation to decomposed protein bodies. Then there are lecithins, which also smell and taste very badly; Fatty acids and their esters in the alcohol. The few dissolved salts that contain sodium chloride and phosphoric acid can be detected play no role. It turns out that almost only alcohol has this effect. Gasoline, ether, chloroform, etc., what else? are considered as solvents for lecithins, are out of the question for this treatment, as they are unsuitable either because of their property of combining with the protein appear or opt for the removal of the typical blood taste and smell prove too ineffective or weaken the effectiveness of the enzyme.
As already mentioned, the experience is based on the action of the alcohol on dried blood. Blood obtained by one of the usual methods at so low Temperature has dried so that no change has taken place as a result of the action of heat has, is subjected to treatment with cold or slightly warm alcohol. These Treatment or leaching can either be systematic under reduced pressure take place, take place, or it will simply take place in such a way as to find the dry blood Let stand for a few hours under several times added alcohol, which is sucked off several times and washes with little ether.
It is z. B. Proceed as follows: roo g at low temperature Dried, finely divided blood becomes 5 to 6 times its weight in alcohol entered and left at 25 to 30 ° for a few hours. Then you suck off and treats the residue again in the same way. Man sucks again 'off, washes with alcohol before and afterwards with a little ether and dries at a lower level Temperature.
Davon waren i,8 g. anorganischer Natur, in der Hauptsache Chlornatrium. The blood powder thus obtained is light, red in color, entirely odorless and tasteless and shows much the same microscopic picture as untreated Blood. Protein bodies. and blood pigment have become soluble in water, pathogenic Germs are practically killed. The ferments remain as much as from the treatment unaffected: These are essentially the glycolytic and lipolytic ones Ferments, the oxidases and fibrin ferments produced by alcohol treatment in the blood powder be felled. In the alcohol extract there are mainly lecithins, etc. and little blood salts. After this treatment, about 92 g of tasteless material is obtained from 100 g Blood powder. The alcohol-free extract weighed 6.6 g. Of these, 1.8 g. more inorganic Nature, mainly sodium chloride. The residue. Insofar as it is soluble in chloroform turned out to be lecithin, fat, fatty acids or their esters and cholesterol. The total residue had a decidedly disgusting smell of feces and alkaline substances Amines. Instead of alcohol, methyl alcohol can also be used. ' The The use of the blood powder produced in this way is said to be a therapeutic marriage.
