Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
For some time, England has been selling a patent-protected fabric under the name of "curled stockinette" or Krimmer-Tricot, which up to now could only be made on circular knitting machines and which, like all fabrics made on circular knitting machines, has sufficient elasticity in order to enable the production of garments that hug the body.
Up to now it was not possible to produce such elastic crimmer fabrics on looms; it is I have now succeeded in finding one with the characteristics and peculiarities of the Krimmer jersey To make fabric on looms in the following ways:
I make a net-like, gauze-like fabric out of walkable woolen yarn, its Chain in loop wire (this is the name for two twos looped around each other Chain threads) and in which I at the same time a corresponding number of threads a previously crimped, d. H. Curly-like crimped woolen yarn either as a top warp or weave in with a second shooter as an impact at small distances from each other. The crinkle or ripple of these Threads of wool are made in such a way that some threads are larger or smaller Number, depending on the fineness of the individual thread and depending on whether it is larger or larger If you want to achieve smaller curls, twisted tightly like a rope, then this one Conditions exposed to the action of hot steam or boiling water and, after they have dried, apart again to be turned around; every single thread then retains its curly curled shape, in which it was twisted together with the other threads. As soon as the tension in which the individual threads are kept on the loom for the purpose of weaving must, stops, the curly threads of the fabric have the tendency to come back together frizz, they form raised curls, thereby pulling the little resistance Mesh fabric together and the whole thing forms a fabric that is stretchable in all directions. I have this raw fabric milled; it shrinks as a result, gets the necessary one Tightness and the external appearance of the Krimmer tricot manufactured on circular knitting machines, but remains just as elastic as this one.
