Bei der Verwendung des Kalkstickstoffs empfindet man es als großen Übelstand, daß
er stark stäubt und .zudem eine ätzende Wirkung für Menschen und Tiere besitzt.
Man suchte diesem Übelstand durch Beimischung von öl oder ölhaltigen Stoffen oder
Räseneisenstein abzuhelfen, welcher durch seinen Gehalt an Eisenoxyd gleichzeitig die
Umsetzung des ■ Cyanamids in Harnstoff begünstigt;; auch hat· man dem Kalkstickstoff
bereits Melasse zugefügt, ihn mit Kainit und Thomasmehl vermischt, und ihn mit Wasser

Insbesondere haben Glaubersalz, Alaun, Borax, Bittersalz usw. günstig gewirkt.
