1. The invention relates to:

a search device for missing children, persons, or (and) possibly also various (valuable) objects.

The device enables a high degree of mobility and opens up the possibility of locating the objects being sought quickly and without high technical effort (within certain limits).

2. Functional description

The device is based on the well-known technology of mobile phones and scalls (GSM technology), but cannot be influenced (switched off). The device logs into the mobile network (using the conventional method) using a specific code.

Once logged in, the device is registered in the radio network. If the location changes, the location is passed on from radio cell to radio cell. The radio network operator can now determine the location (cell) when requested by the police. The search operations can be concentrated on a much smaller area. Another advantage: the system works across Europe and worldwide.

As a further option, an emergency call button can be attached to the device, which can be used to send an alarm code, which is then forwarded to the police or to any other person.

As a further option, the device can be "called" from a predefined device, e.g. a cell phone, whereby the caller is informed of the position (radio line) after transmitting a code.

3. State of the art

The known devices that come into consideration for the above-mentioned case are:

a. Satellite search devices / tracking devices;

b. Tracking beacons/locator beacons with limited range;

c. Cell phones (GSM);

4. Advantages of the present invention:

- This tracking system uses the existing mobile phone networks (D-, E-networks). This means that no complex radio direction finding or satellite tracking systems are required. The devices work using state-of-the-art technology like mobile phones or call devices. This device has no buttons and no display. It is housed in as inconspicuous everyday items as possible, such as jewelry, pens, watches, clothing, etc.

These devices log into the radio networks. The radio network operator can then determine the radio cell. This means that the location where the person is located can be restricted or determined.

Claims (5)

1. An unobtrusive system on the object (person), which only has the task of logging into a mobile network (GSM network) and thus making its position known. 2. As claim 1, but characterized by an additional emergency call button. 3. As claims 1 and 2, but characterized by a position feedback function anchored in the mobile radio network. 4. As claims 1, 2 and 3, but characterized by a sleep mode which is canceled by selecting the device and reporting its position. 5. As claims 1, 2, 3 and 4 but characterized by storage of the last 10 area codes/cell numbers in the device for better tracking.
