This hollow body can have recesses in its opposite side surfaces into which the end pieces of a stand or base made of wire engage on opposite sides. The card-like hollow body is simply moved out of its presentation position shown in Fig. 2, in which the main surfaces are in or almost in a vertical position, and then back again with a vigorous movement (see arrow). The floating bodies are thus whirled up and then sink down again, creating the impression of a snowstorm, glitter rain or sandstorm in front of the image that forms the rear main surface or is located behind it.

Claims

1. A hollow body (so-called snow globe) which can be filled with a transparent liquid and flake-shaped or powdery floating bodies and is formed at least partially from transparent material and can preferably be attached to a base, characterized in that the outer surface of the hollow body is formed by two mutually parallel, essentially flat main surfaces ( 1 ) and by narrow side surfaces ( 2 ) which connect the main surfaces ( 1 ) to one another at the edge, and in that the material or materials from which the hollow body is formed is or are unbreakable.

2. Hollow body according to claim 1, characterized in that it is designed as a flat cuboid.

3. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that one of the main surfaces ( 1 ) is transparent, while the other of the main surfaces bears an image.

4. Hollow body according to claim 3, characterized in that the other of the main surfaces is formed by the liquid-tight front surface of a sheet of material, in particular a sheet of paper or cardboard, preferably a postcard, on which the side surfaces ( 2 ) are attached in a liquid-tight manner.

5. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that both main surfaces ( 1 ) are transparent.

6. Hollow body according to claim 5, characterized in that a sheet of material bearing the image, in particular a paper or cardboard base, preferably a postcard, can be fastened to the back of one of the main surfaces ( 1 ).

7. Hollow body according to claim 6, characterized in that rail-like strips ( 5 ) for inserting the material sheet are formed on the outside of the main surface designed to receive the material sheet.

8. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that it is closed with an openable plug ( 3 ) and contains the floating bodies, so that the liquid can be filled in subsequently.

9. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the base is designed as a rocking base which receives the hollow body in such a way that it can be rocked back and forth or rotated about a transverse axis.

10. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the distance between the main surfaces is 1 to 10 mm, preferably 1 to 5 mm and most preferably about 1.5 mm.

11. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that it has more than two main surfaces parallel to one another, so that at least two preferably independent chambers are formed.

2. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the powdery suspended bodies are white suspended bodies, colorless, white, single- or multi-colored flakes or sand.

13. Hollow body according to one of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that its total weight including floating bodies does not exceed 50 g.
