Z-shaped washbasin

The present invention relates to a washbasin with a second storage surface that is offset in height from a first washbasin surface, wherein both surfaces are connected to one another.

Conventional washbasins consist of a flat surface that usually has a recess to accommodate the washbasin and any necessary installations. Additional storage space is created by installing separate shelves around the washbasin. Furthermore, holders for towels, washcloths, etc. are installed in the area around the washbasin, independent of the washbasin.

The disadvantage is that each additional element has to be installed separately, which requires more work. In addition, due to the geometric dimensions, it is often difficult to position these additional shelves and brackets so that they are within easy reach of the washbasin user.

Especially for the hotel industry, storage areas or wash basins are desirable, which allow space-saving storage of unused bathroom linen.

It was therefore the object of the invention to provide a washbasin which, in a space-saving manner, on the one hand provides sufficient storage space and, on the other hand, sufficient storage options for bathroom linen provided as well as easy assembly.

This object is achieved by a washbasin 1 with an integrated, height-adjusted shelf, characterized in that the washbasin surface is Z-shaped, with the lower leg of the Z forming a first washbasin level 2

and the upper leg of the Z represents a height-offset second washbasin level 3 and the first and second washbasin levels 2, 3 are connected by a connecting piece 4 firmly connected thereto.

The first washbasin level 2 is usually used to accommodate a washbasin 8 and in this case can contain a recess 5 provided for this purpose. If necessary, further recesses can be provided, e.g. for installations 7.

The second washbasin level 3 can be located either on the left or right side of the first washbasin level 2.

According to a further embodiment, the Z-shaped base body of the wash basin 1 can have, in addition to the second level 3, a further third level which is offset in height from the first level 2 and which, depending on the position of the second level 3, is mounted on the opposite side of the first level 2.

The height difference between the second level 3 and each subsequent level and the first level 2 is not critical and can be chosen as required.

The dimensions of the individual washbasin levels are also not particularly critical. They are usually determined according to the current standards for bathroom fittings and ergonomic aspects, so that comfortable handling for the user is guaranteed.

The inclination of the connecting piece 4 in relation to the first washbasin level 2 is preferably 90°. The surfaces, i.e. the washbasin surfaces 2, 3 and those of the connecting piece 4, can, if desired, also enclose an angle other than 90°, which can be obtuse or acute.

The material for the washbasin can be chosen freely. It can be plastic, wood, ceramic, glass, metal, composite material, etc. Different materials can be used for the individual components.
Preferably, materials are used that are commonly used for bathroom fittings.

The washbasin according to the invention can additionally have further shelves and/or holders.

On the wall side, the washbasin according to the invention can be provided with end surfaces which are mounted perpendicular to the washbasin surface plane.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the second washbasin level 3 is arranged on the left-hand side and is connected to the first washbasin level 2 via a connecting piece 4 mounted vertically at a right angle to the first and second washbasin levels.

The first washbasin level 2 contains recesses to accommodate the washbasin 5 and installations 7.

The embodiment shown in Figure 1 additionally contains a storage area 6, e.g. for towels, which is arranged below the second level 3, preferably at the level of the first level 2. In the embodiment shown here,

the storage surface 6 is formed by a series of rod-shaped elements 6a (hereinafter also referred to as "rods") which run parallel to the width of the washbasin surface. The dimensions of this additional storage surface 6 or here the rods 6a can be chosen as desired. They usually depend on the spatial conditions. Preferably this surface 6 or the rods 6a) are flush with the outer edge of the second level 3 (on the left in the picture) or are slightly shorter as can be seen in 3.1.

The rod-shaped elements 6a can fulfil a dual function: on the one hand, folded bathroom linen can be placed on them, on the other hand, they can serve as a hanger for used towels.

The bars 6a can of course also be arranged perpendicular to the width, i.e. parallel to the depth t. In this case, they can be attached directly to the wall or to a rear end surface 11 of the washbasin.

The storage surface 6 can be designed as desired. The number and length of the bars 6a can be selected as required. It can be a flat, continuous surface. It can be formed from a circular, oval, square, curved bar.

As already explained, the second surface 3 can be arranged to the left or right of the first surface 1, but the washbasin can also contain a storage area on both sides of the first washbasin level 2.

Figure 2 shows the embodiment according to Figure 1 with the basin 8 mounted. The embodiment shown here also includes a washbasin console 10 to which additional brackets 9 are attached.

Figure 3.1 shows a front view of a washstand 1, wherein the first level 2 and the second level 3 are connected at right angles via a connecting piece 4. Below level 3, at the height of level 2, a holder or storage area 6 for bathroom linen is attached.

Figures 4 and 5 show a further embodiment of the Z-shaped washstand according to the invention, as it may look in the assembled state, for example. Claims (10)

Wash basin ( 1 ) with integrated height-offset shelf, characterized in that the wash basin surface is Z-shaped, the lower leg of the Z forming a first wash basin level ( 2 ) and the upper leg of the Z forming a height-offset second wash basin level ( 3 ), which are connected to one another via a connecting piece ( 4 ). 2. Wash basin according to claim 1, characterized in that the height-offset second wash basin level ( 3 ) is optionally mounted to the left or right of the first wash basin level ( 2 ). 3. Wash basin according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the wash basin ( 1 ) comprises an additional storage surface ( 6 ) which is arranged below the second level ( 3 ). 4. Wash basin according to claim 3, characterized in that the additional storage surface ( 6 ) extends substantially at the height of the first wash basin surface ( 2 ). 5. Washstand according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that additional storage surface ( 6 ) is formed by rod-shaped elements 6a . 6. Washstand according to claim 5, characterized in that the rod-shaped elements 6a are arranged parallel to one another. 7. Washstand according to one of claims 5 or 6, characterized in that the rod-shaped elements 6a are mounted parallel or transversely to the width of the washstand. 8. Wash basin according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the wash basin ( 1 ) has an end surface ( 11 ) on the rear side. 9. Washstand according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the washstand is connected to a console ( 10 ) for supporting a washbasin ( 8 ). 10.
