The invention relates to a deep-drawn, sealable and pasteurizable plastic tray container with a multi-purpose lid and peel-off film, designed for packaging foodstuffs, in particular for packaging delicatessen fish products, filled under vacuum with simultaneous addition of protective gas for long-term storage.

It is known that in order to meet the constantly increasing consumer demand in the field of high-quality food packaging, a wide variety of plastic containers made of very different plastics are used and employed in many purpose-specific variations.

The requirement when using sealable plastic containers is in particular to use containers manufactured by injection molding with a large capacity as well as high stability and large wall thicknesses for this purpose.

The aim was to accommodate, seal, transport and store as large a quantity of packaging goods as possible in these containers.

Current containers are then subjected to a vacuum treatment during the closing process and are welded or sealed using a suitable sealing film. For example, attempts have already been made to largely prevent permeation, in particular the penetration of oxygen, by making the container walls as thick as possible and using a largely gas-tight sealing film, which in turn greatly promotes and accelerates the spoilage of the food products.

Although attempts have been made to reduce oxygen permeability to zero by using a multi-layer film when sealing the containers, this has not been particularly successful.

It is known that plastic containers made of PP or PE, due to their production using the thermoplastic injection molding process, cannot guarantee what is known as gas tightness or can only do so to a very limited extent due to their chemical or molecular structure after injection molding.

Furthermore, the higher weight of the material used in thick-walled plastic containers has a very negative impact on disposal costs, since, especially today, the material disposal costs often exceed the purchase price of the packaging material by several times.

For these reasons, the general trend today is to bring a so-called "over-the-counter" family pack onto the market, which is characterized by the smallest possible but sufficient filling volume.

For this family pack, however, not only the filling volume but also the longest possible storage life is an essential requirement, due to the time constraints that arise after filling and packaging, storage times and transport times involving the wholesale and retail trade right up to the end consumer.

During these times, the filling goods packed in the plastic containers are exposed to various atmospheric influences, which can naturally significantly impair the shelf life or storage capacity of the food filling goods, for example fish or fish delicacies, due to the permeation of gases, especially oxygen.

The known disadvantages gave rise to the object of the invention to develop a thin-walled, but dimensionally stable, deep-drawn plastic tray container with a multi-purpose lid that can be produced from a known multi-layer film, which is sealable with a lid film and is largely gas-tight and pasteurizable, which is used for packaging foodstuffs, for example delicatessen fish products, under vacuum for long-term stability and which can be continuously filled, sealed and lidded in fully and semi-automatic packaging systems, which in turn simultaneously eliminates or prevents the known disadvantages in an advantageous manner.

The object was achieved with the present invention in that the tray container formed from a known, largely gas-tight multilayer film by deep drawing on the one hand has a contour-forming and sealing, circumferential and collar-like dimensionally stable edge in the upper area and in which, on the other hand, support contours and corner-reinforcing spacer cams are arranged to stabilize the shape of the container axes.

A further advantage resulting from the invention is that the multi-purpose lid, which is made of transparent plastic for example, is provided on the one hand with bead-like clips on its underside, which can engage in the collar-like and dimensionally stable edge when the lid is placed on the bowl container, and on the other hand the upper side is provided with a circumferential contour which supports the bottom of the bowl container accordingly.

An embodiment of the bowl container with multi-purpose lid is shown and described with reference to the drawings.

According to Fig. 1-4, (1) represents the bowl container itself, which has the contour-forming, sealing edge (2) in the upper area. The bowl is made from a composite consisting of polystyrene-EVOM-PE.

Below the upper edge (2) there are spacer cams (3), (4), (5) and (6) which reinforce the corners and at the same time serve for the automatic destacking of the tray container (1).

The circumferential support contour (7) and support contour (8) serving to stabilize the shape of the container axes are located in the lower wall and base area of the tray container (1). The multilayer film intended for sealing the tray container (1) is shown as (9). The cover film consists of a composite of the materials PET-EVOM-PE.

The lid cannot be cut open with a knife, but is pulled off using an overhanging tab. After sealing with the multilayer film (9) onto the contour-forming peripheral edge (2) of the tray container (1), the multi-purpose lid (10), made from the monomaterial PET, is placed on the tray container (1). The bead-like clips (11) grip under the peripheral edge (2), which in turn means that the multi-purpose lid (10) sits firmly on the tray container (1), but can be removed at any time.

The circumferential support contour (12) of the multi-purpose lid (10), which is adapted to the bottom of the tray container (1), simultaneously serves as a type of seat guide for the tray containers (1) which are stacked several times on top of each other during transport.

Deep-drawn, sealable and pasteurizable tray container made of plastic with multi-purpose lid and covering film for packaging foodstuffs, for example delicatessen fish products under vacuum for long-term stability, which can be continuously filled, sealed and covered on fully and semi-automatic packaging systems, characterized in that the tray container ( 1 ) formed from a known, largely gas-tight multi-layer film by means of deep-drawing has a peripheral edge ( 2 ) in the upper area which serves to seal and to receive the multi-purpose lid ( 10 ), and whose container walls and base are provided with supporting contours ( 7 ) and ( 8 ) to ensure dimensional stability of the container axes. 2. Sealable and pasteurizable tray container according to claim 1 , characterized in that the tray container ( 1 ) has corner-reinforcing spacer cams ( 3 ), ( 4 ), ( 5 ) and ( 6 ) for automatic unstacking. 3. Sealable and pasteurizable shell container according to claims 1 and 2 , characterized in that the multi-purpose lid ( 10 ) has clip tabs ( 11 ) on its underside and its upper side is provided with a circumferential support contour ( 12 ) adapted to the bottom of the shell container ( 1 ).
