Description

Beschreibung:Description:

The 3D TV box is an electronic device that enables simulated 3D playback and/or real stereoscopic 3D playback on a 100Hz-capable PAL television/monitor/projector. To view such an SD image/video, the end user uses commercially available shutter glasses.

Funktionsprinzip:Functional principle:

The input module (A) serves as a variable input for all common television and/or video signals (e.g. FBAS, Y/C, DV, HF). Depending on the version, these different inputs (one or more) can be integrated in the input module.

The electronic circuit (E) converts the 50Hz signal provided by the input module (A) into a 100Hz signal required to control the shutter glasses. This 100Hz signal is provided at the connection socket (C) for shutter glasses (D).

The electronic circuit (F) processes the 50Hz signal provided by the input module (A) as follows:

Anwendung: Stereoskopische 3D-Wiedergabe von stereoskopischen 3D-Bildern oder-Filmen.• The 50Hz signal provided by the input module (A) is passed on unchanged to the output module (B). Application: Stereoscopic 3D playback of stereoscopic 3D images or films.

Anwendung: Simulierte 3D-Wiedergabe jedes 2D-Bildes/Filmes. • The 50Hz signal provided by the input module (A) is prepared for the simulated SD playback. This means that the two fields of the supplied television/video signal are shifted horizontally against each other. The intensity of this shift is also freely controlled by the circuit (F). This allows the intensity of the simulated 3D effect to be controlled. Application: Simulated 3D playback of any 2D image/film.

The output module (B) serves as a variable output for all common television and/or video signals (e.g. FBAS, Y/C, DV, HF). Depending on the version, these different outputs (one or more, depending on the version) can be integrated into the output module.

Anmerkungen:Remarks:

This functional principle or the 3D TV BOX is intended to be used analogously for 120Hz NTSC televisions/monitors/projectors (with an input frequency of the television/video signal of 60Hz).

The utility model protection or patent also applies to partial solutions of the SD-TV-BOX. This means that a version of the 3D-TV-BOX with only one of the electronic circuits (E) or (F) is also to be protected.

The utility model protection or patent also applies to solutions that work according to the 3D TV-B0X principle, but are integrated into televisions, monitors and projectors.

Begriffsklärungen:Clarification of terms:

1. Simulated 3D playback: a normal two-dimensional television or computer image is made virtually visible to the viewer in or in front of the playback device (television, computer monitor, etc.) via a stereoscopic viewing unit (e.g. shutter glasses or polarized glasses; depending on the stereoscopic display method). This gives the viewer a certain spatial impression when viewing an image or film reproduced in this way.

Stereoscopic 3D playback: a played "real" stereoscopic 3D film is made visible to the viewer via a stereoscopic viewing unit (e.g. shutter glasses or polarized glasses; depending on the stereoscopic display method) via the playback device (television, computer monitor, etc.) so that the viewer receives a real spatial impression when viewing the image or film.
