The invention relates to a calendar with a front and a back wall and openable doors arranged in the front wall.

Advent calendars of the type mentioned above are already well known. They have 24 doors, one of which is opened every day during Advent. Behind the doors there is a surprise, such as a picture, a toy or a sweet. This is intended to increase children's excitement and anticipation of Christmas.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by a calendar with a front and a back wall and with 32 openable doors arranged in the front wall.

Because the calendar has 32 doors rather than just 24, its "validity" does not end on Christmas Eve, but on New Year's Day of the following year. For the first edition of the calendar, this is January 1, 2000, the first day of the new millennium. The scope of the new calendar is not only expanded in terms of time, but also in terms of the user base, since the inclusion of New Year's Day means it is more likely to be aimed at an adult audience.

In a simple design, the back wall has graphic representations facing the front wall, which can be exposed by opening doors so that they can be viewed from the outside. The front and back walls can lie flat on top of each other and be glued together, for example.

However, it is also possible to arrange open compartments between the front and rear walls towards the doors, which hold goods (e.g. chocolate or other sweets or toys) that can be accessed by opening the doors. For this purpose, the compartments can be designed in an insert that - originally a separate

In all cases, the front and rear walls and/or the insert can be made of cardboard or another foldable flat material. If the calendar is made from foldable flat material, the doors can be formed into the front wall using weakening lines (e.g. perforation lines or broken cutting lines). The hinges for the doors can be formed by creasing lines.

There can be 28 standard doors, which can be approximately the same size (same area or same dimensions).

Furthermore, there can be one to three Christmas doors, which can be the same size, but preferably have twice to four times the size (area or dimensions) of the standard doors.

Finally, there can be a New Year (or Millennium) door, which can preferably be four to eight times the size of the standard doors.

Due to the larger number of doors, the calendar according to the invention can have larger dimensions than a conventional Advent calendar. However, smaller doors can also be used or the goods used can be smaller than is the case with a conventional calendar, so that the overall dimensions of a conventional calendar are achieved.

The calendar can be sold like a conventional Advent calendar, but with more uses. It can also be used by companies as a promotional gift with its own individual message. Because the calendar is valid for longer, it stays with the customer for longer and the novelty of the product means it attracts more attention.

Claims (13)

1. Calendar with a front and a back wall and with 32 opening doors arranged in the front wall. 2. Calendar according to claim 1, wherein the back wall has graphic representations facing the front wall, which can be exposed by opening doors. 3. Calendar according to claim 1 or 2, in which open compartments are arranged between the front and rear walls towards the doors, which accommodate goods that are accessible by opening the doors. 4. Calendar according to claim 3, wherein the compartments are formed in an insert arranged between the front and rear walls. 5. Calendar according to claim 3 or 4, wherein the front and back walls are connected to each other by side walls. 6. Calendar according to one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the front and/or back wall and/or side walls and/or insert consist of cardboard or another foldable flat material. 7. Calendar according to claim 6, in which the doors are formed by weakening lines in the front wall. 8. Calendar according to claim 6 or 7, in which the hinges of the doors are formed by groove lines. 9. Calendar according to one of claims 1 to 8, which has 28 standard doors of approximately the same size. 10. Calendar according to one of claims 1 to 9, which has one, two or three Christmas doors whose size exceeds that of at least 28 other doors. 11. Calendar according to claim 9 and 10, wherein the at least one Christmas door is approximately twice to four times the size of a standard door. 12. Calendar according to one of claims 1 to 11, which has a New Year's door whose size exceeds that of the other doors. 13.
