Sie sind einteilig (aus einem Stück gebogen oder gegossen) und nur für eine bestimmte Dämmplattenstärke geeignet oder aber zweiteilig (in diesem Falle wird ein weiteres Profil zur Aufnahme verschiedener Putzstärken aufgesteckt oder geklebt) aber auch diese zweiteiligen Profile (Profilsatz) sind nur für eine bestimmte Dämmplattenstärke geeignet. Bei dreiteiligen Profilen wird ein Verlängerungsteü in die Grundschiene eingehängt um Platz zur Aufnahme stärkerer Dämmplatten zu schaffen. Alle diese Profile müssen an die Wand gedübelt werden. Bei altem oder nicht fluchtgerecht verlaufendem Mauerwerk muß, um die anzubringende Dämmung fluchtgerecht zu erstellen, teilweise stark mit Unterlagsscheiben bei der Verdübelung gearbeitet werden . Diese Unterfütterung führt zu nicht erwünschten Hohlkammern hinter dem Profil und den Dämmplatten, zum anderen ist eine fluchtgerechte Anbringung der Profile problematisch oder fast nicht möglich. Die Dämmplatten werden in das befestigte Profil eingelegt, die im nachhinein aufzuklebende oder aufzusteckende Putzkante ist an die Führung des Profiles gebunden und richtet sich nach dieser Kante aus , und nicht nach der Kante der Dämmplatte.
