The invention relates to a seating/reclining furniture item with a base part, preferably with a backrest, and a pull-out part, which has a seating/reclining surface and can be moved between a pull-out position and a basic position relative to the base part. '

Such seating/reclining furniture, also known as functional furniture, can be used, for example, as an armchair in the basic position and as a couch or lounger in the pull-out position and, thanks to their transformability, allow for individual design of living areas.

The problem (task) underlying the invention is to create a seating/reclining furniture of the type mentioned at the beginning that can be adjusted between its basic position and its extended position in the simplest possible way.

This object is achieved by the features of claim 1 and in particular by the fact that the pull-out part can be guided in a rear area in the pull-out direction along at least one guide rail of the base part and is coupled in a front area to the base part via at least one pivoting fitting which has at least one support element which can be moved by a pull-out movement of the pull-out part guided in the guide rail relative to the base part between a pivoted-in position.

According to the invention, the relative movement between the base part and the pull-out part caused by the pull-out movement is used to actuate the pivot fitting and an automatic swinging in and out of the support element is achieved. In the basic position, in which the support element is not required, the support element is swung in and thus practically invisible, which allows greater ground clearance and improves the overall visual impression of the seating/reclining furniture.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the swivel fitting and the guide are coordinated with one another in such a way that by guiding the pull-out part along the guide, a region of the swivel fitting hinged to the pull-out part, in particular an actuating lever of the swivel fitting, can be moved on a path that enables the support element to swivel. 25

According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the link is designed such that the support element can be pivoted between the pivoted-in position and the support position by an adjustment path that is short with respect to the maximum adjustment path.

This makes it possible to pivot the support element into the support position using the pivot fitting when moving the pull-out part from its basic position into the pull-out position shortly after leaving the basic position. The early pivoting of the support element prevents the front area of the pull-out part from tipping downwards and makes it easier for physically weak people in particular to pull out the pull-out part.

According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the sitting/lying surface of the pull-out part lies in the basic position and in the pull-out position at least approximately in the same plane.

This ensures that the sitting/lying area remains at a height that corresponds to a normal sitting height even after the pull-out part has been pulled out, allowing you to lie down and get up comfortably, which is often an indispensable feature of a reclining furniture, especially for older people.

The seating/reclining furniture according to the invention according to Fig. 1 comprises a base part 10, which has two side walls 48, of which only one is shown in Fig. 1 and which are offset parallel to one another in a plane extending perpendicular to the floor 58. The two side walls 48 are connected to one another via a crossbar 46.

The side wall 48 comprises an approximately vertical backrest 12, to which a back cushion 52 providing an inclined leaning surface is attached. Furthermore, the side wall 48 comprises a horizontal section, with which the base part 10 is supported on the floor 58 in a manner not shown in Fig. 1, either directly or via separate feet or legs.

The pull-out part 16 of the seating/reclining furniture comprises two side parts 42 running parallel to the side walls 48 of the base part 10, with one side part 42 of the pull-out part 16 running immediately adjacent to an inner side of the relevant side wall of the base part 10 provided with the slide 18. The pull-out part 16 also comprises a seat/reclining cushion 54 providing a seating/reclining surface 14.

The side parts 42 of the pull-out part 16 each have a swivel fitting 20 in their front area, with which they are coupled to the respective side wall 48 of the base part 10 in a manner explained in more detail below.

The side areas of the seating/reclining furniture, each formed by a side wall 48 and a side part 42, are constructed identically, in particular with regard to the arrangement and design of the guides 18 and the pivot fittings 20, with the pivot fittings 20 each being attached to the inner sides of the side parts 42 of the pull-out part facing one another.

The pull-out part 16 is movable relative to the base part 10, whereby it can be transferred from a basic position explained later with reference to Fig. 2 - in a pull-out direction A indicated by an arrow in Fig. - into a pull-out position shown in Fig. 1.

The pivot fittings 20 of the pull-out part 16 each comprise an actuating lever 24, which is articulated with a pivot area 28 on the base part 10 and with a pivot area 26 on the pull-out part 16. The actuating lever 24 can thus be rotated relative to the base part 10 or the pull-out part 16 about axes 62, 64, which each run through the pivot areas 26, 28 formed by the free ends of the actuating lever 24. The actuating levers 24 of the pivot fittings 20 are connected to one another via a crossbar 44 extending parallel to the crossbar 46 of the base part 10.

A rod 34 is connected with one free end in an articulated manner to the actuating lever 24, in a region between the two axes of rotation 62, 64 near the articulation region 26 of the actuating lever 24. With its opposite free end, the rod 34 is connected in an articulated manner to a support element 22 designed as a rotary lever, in a connection region 36 forming a free end of the support element 22.

The support element 22 is pivotably attached to the pull-out part 16, the pivot axis 40 being closer to an axis 68, about which the support element 22 and the rod _ä 34 can be rotated relative to one another, than to the opposite free end 38 of the support element 22, to which a roller 56 is attached, with which the pull-out part 16 is supported on the floor 58 at its front area in the pull-out position according to Fig. 1. 25

In the extended position according to Fig. 1, the support element 22 extends approximately perpendicular to the floor 58, while the rod 34 runs obliquely towards the floor 58 in the extension direction A, but is only slightly inclined towards the floor 58. The actuating lever 24 extends obliquely upwards away from the floor 58 in the extension direction A.

The guide element of the pull-out part 16, which is designed as a roller 50 and interacts with the guide track 32 of the link 18 and is mounted in the rear area of the side part 42, is located in the pull-out position according to Fig. 1 on a front plateau 33a of the guide track 32. A rear plateau 33b of the guide track 32 lies in the same plane, running at a small angle obliquely to the floor 58, so that the rear plateau 33b is slightly closer to the floor 58 than the front plateau 33a.

The guide track 32 is curved between the two plateaus 33a, 33b and has a depression 33c, the lowest point of which, closest to the floor 58, is closer to the rear plateau 33b than to the front plateau 33a.

While the pivot fitting 20 is unfolded to a certain extent in the pull-out position according to Fig. 1, it is folded together in the basic position of the seating/reclining furniture shown in Fig. 2.

In the basic position according to Fig. 2, the actuating lever 24 is pivoted by approximately 90° with respect to its position corresponding to the pull-out position in Fig. 1, so that it extends obliquely upwards away from the base 58, opposite to the pull-out direction A.

The support element 22 is in its pivoted-in position in Fig. 2, in which it forms approximately a right angle with the actuating lever 24 and rests with the roller 56 on the crossbar 46 connecting the side walls 48 of the base part 10. '

The rod 34 connecting the actuating lever 24 and the support element 22 extends approximately as in the pull-out position according to Fig. 1 in the pull-out direction A obliquely in the direction of the base 58.

In the basic position according to Fig. 2, the pull-out part 16 rests in the area of the swivel fitting 20 on the crossbar 46 of the base part 10 and with its guide roller 50 mounted in the rear area on the rear plateau 33b of the guide track 32 of the link 18.

The comparison of Fig. 1 and 2 shows that in the pull-out position according to Fig. 1 the sitting/lying surface 14 of the pull-out part 16 runs approximately horizontally, while in the basic position according to Fig. 2 it runs slightly diagonally upwards away from the floor 58 in the pull-out direction A. The seating/lying furniture according to the invention thus enables optimal lying in its pull-out position and optimal sitting in its basic position.

Furthermore, the comparison of the basic position and the extended position of the seating/reclining furniture shows that the seating/reclining surface 14

runs at approximately the same distance from the floor 58. When the seating/reclining furniture is used for lying down, the surface 14 is thus at a sufficiently large distance from the floor 58 to allow comfortable standing up and lying down.

The rear part of the seat/reclining cushion 54 is pushed under the back cushion 52 and into a receiving space between the back of the back cushion 52 and the rear ends of the side walls 48 of the base part 10 in the basic position according to Fig. 2. The seat/reclining surface 14 is thus reduced in size in the basic position for optimal sitting compared to the extended position.

To transfer the pull-out part 16 from its basic position according to Fig. 2 into its pull-out position according to Fig. 1, the pull-out part 16 is gripped in its front area and moved in the pull-out direction A relative to the base part 10. So that the actuating lever 24 can be pivoted over a vertical intermediate position into its position according to Fig. 1, the pull-out part 16 is raised relative to the base part 10 in the area of the articulation area 28 of the actuating lever 24, i.e. in the front area of the side walls 48 of the base part 10.

This lifting is achieved by the guide track 32 of the link 18, which is coordinated with the swivel fitting 20 in this respect, as follows:

The pull-out part 16 thus tilts like a seesaw around an axis 30 which runs through the support lines of the side parts 42 of the pull-out part 16 on the crossbar 46 of the base part 10. In this way, the user is spared from having to apply the force required to lift the pull-out part 16.

The pivot fitting 20 is designed in such a way that - after the operating lever 24 has been pivoted beyond its vertical position during the further pull-out movement in the pull-out direction A - the support element 22 is pivoted early into the support position according to Fig. 1. As a result, the front area of the pull-out part 16 is supported on the floor 58 during the remaining pull-out movement, which eliminates the risk of the front area of the pull-out part 16 tipping over. The roller 56 attached to the support element 22 is preferably made of plastic. Instead of the roller 56, a sliding element designed, for example, as a plastic or rubber foot can also be provided.

In order to return the pull-out part 16 to the basic position according to Fig. 2, the pull-out part 16 is pushed against the pull-out direction A onto the base part 10. The rear area of the pull-out part 16 provided with the guide roller 50 is then moved back into the depression 33c of the guide track 32 of the link 18 at the right time in order to raise the front area of the pull-out part 16 provided with the swivel fitting 20 relative to the base part 10 and to allow the actuating lever 24 to pivot beyond its vertical position into the position according to Fig. 2.

Thus, the design of the guide track 32 of the link 18 enables an automatic increase in the vertical distance between the two articulation areas 26, 28 of the actuating lever 24 both when the pull-out part 16 is pulled out and when it is pushed in, which in each case enables the actuating lever 24 to be folded over about its vertical position.

Seating/reclining furniture with a base part (10) preferably having a backrest (12) and a pull-out part (16) having a seat/reclining surface (14) and movable between a pull-out position and a basic position relative to the base part (10), which can be guided in a rear region in a pull-out direction (A) along at least one guide (18) of the base part (10) and is coupled in a front region to the base part (10) via at least one pivot fitting (20) which has at least one support element (22) which can be pivoted by a pull-out movement of the pull-out part (16) guided in the guide (18) relative to the base part (10) between a pivoted-in position and a support position for supporting the pull-out part (16) in its pull-out position. 2.
