Ladies urinal and ladies toilet facilities

The invention relates to a women's urinal which is connected to a water supply and a waste water system of a toilet. The women's urinal according to the invention is intended in particular for public or semi-public toilets.

The general nature of such toilets is characterized by a high degree of anonymity and intensive use. Due to the anonymity in the public toilet, users are often not very motivated to keep the toilet clean and have a slight tendency to vandalism. On the other hand, users attach great importance to a momentary sense of private ownership when using the public toilet.

In the interest of the operator, the urinal must not be susceptible to dirt and must also be very easy to clean. 0 In addition, the user does not want to be confronted with contamination from previous users, as she has a great need for privacy.

These conditions entail high demands on hygiene and the achievable level of privacy.

The toilet facilities currently used in public women's toilets, consisting of wall-mounted toilets, each surrounded by a cubicle with a lockable door, do not meet the hygiene requirements of a woman and of a facility operator. Women therefore often have an extreme aversion to public toilets. Starting with the mere thought of dirty toilet facilities, the woman often postpones going to the toilet as long as possible. The invention creates a women's urinal that allows women to do their business quickly, conveniently, without contact and therefore in a hygienic manner.

This is achieved by a women's urinal with a deep-flush bowl, which is designed in the form of a downwardly tapering funnel with a narrow, elongated shape when viewed from above. The edge of the bowl has a front, horizontally running section that extends at least approximately to the longitudinal center of the bowl, and a rear, obliquely upwardly running section that is widened outwards in the shape of a collar compared to the front section. The women's urinal according to the invention also has a flush water connection, which is provided in the rear end section of the bowl adjacent to its edge, and a waste water connection, which is provided in the lower end section of the bowl.

The women's urinal according to the invention allows urination with the back to the rear section of the bowl with slightly bent legs. The narrow, elongated shape of the bowl allows the woman to enclose the front part of the bowl with her legs without touching it. This narrow shape also allows the bowl 0 to be placed at such a height that the woman does not have to bend her legs too much and does not have to assume an uncomfortable squatting position as mentioned above. On the other hand, the slanting rear section of the bowl edge in conjunction with its collar-shaped widening outwards prevents a user from sitting on the bowl with their thighs resting on it, since the raised collar-shaped widened bowl edge forms a premature stop for the buttocks. With the position of the user above the bowl, which is largely predetermined by the shape of the urinal according to the invention, i.e. with only slightly bent legs, it is rather difficult to have a bowel movement. In addition, due to the high height at which the bowl is to be positioned, as mentioned above, it is clear that placing the buttocks on the bowl is not intended. Furthermore, the inventive shape of the rear widened, sloping section of the bowl rim helps to ensure that the user assumes the correct position and orientation relative to the bowl.

Since the inventive women's urinal practically excludes the possibility of unwanted ingestion of stool, the urinal is prevented from becoming soiled as a result, and it is also possible to provide the urinal with a weak flush that is sufficient to remove urine, which reduces water consumption compared to a conventional toilet, where the ingestion of stool must be taken into account.

According to the design of the women's urinal according to the invention, urine will hit the front part of the bowl in particular during use. The inner surface of the bowl is therefore preferably designed to run inwards and downwards at least under the front section of the bowl edge at an acute angle to the vertical in order to prevent the incident jet from splashing back out of the bowl. An acute angle is understood to mean an angle of less than 45°. Preferably, the angle mentioned is less than or equal to 30°. In addition, the inner surface under the rear section of the bowl edge can of course also run downwards and inwards at an acute angle.

According to one embodiment of the invention, urine splashing back out of the bowl is also prevented by the fact that the rim of the bowl is designed as an inwardly protruding collar, on the underside of which drops splashing back are stopped.

The collar is preferably designed in the shape of a channel, e.g. as a downwardly open circulating channel or as a closed channel with holes that are open downwards, with the flushing water connection being connected to the channel in such a way that flushing water can enter the channel during flushing. The flushing water is thus guided along the channel and reaches the inner surface of the bowl through the channel opening or the holes, so that the inner surface of the key is flushed on almost all sides.

The bowl rim is widened at its front ends to form wing-like front edges that point diagonally forwards and outwards. These front edges of the bowl rim, which protrude to the side of the bowl, form a stop for the user's lower legs.

This makes it easier for the user to assume the correct position relative to the bowl.

Preferably, between the front edges of the rear section of the bowl rim and the outside of the bowl, lateral support walls extending downwards along the outside of the bowl are formed. This pleasantly increases the stop surface and creates a smooth, easy-to-clean outer surface in comparison to the front edges that protrude at angles and are sometimes inaccessible.

In order to prevent injury to a user and the accumulation of dirt on the urinal as well as to facilitate cleaning of the urinal, the women's urinal 0 according to the invention advantageously has no pointed corners or sharp edges.

Instead, the urinal’s outer surfaces and their transitions are made smooth by appropriately forming the cladding walls around the bowl.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the bowl, when viewed from above, has the shape of an oval that tapers slightly towards the front and preferably has straight long sides. The rounded shape of the bowl prevents injuries to a user or damage to their clothing, as mentioned above. The taper towards the front makes it easier to assume the correct position with the legs arranged to the side of the front section of the bowl.

5 Although the waste water connection provided in the lower end section of the bowl can be connected in any manner to an outlet opening formed in the bowl, it is preferable to form an odor trap in front of the waste water connection.

Although the bowl can be provided with a column on its underside for floor mounting of the urinal, it is preferable to have a flange on the back of the bowl for wall mounting of the urinal. This avoids cracks in the floor area that are prone to dirt, and the floor beneath the urinal can be easily cleaned.

The material used for the inventive women’s urinal can be stainless steel, ceramic or plastic.

The invention further provides a women's toilet facility with a women's urinal, which toilet facility enables a quick toilet walk with sufficient visual protection to guarantee the necessary privacy.

This is achieved by a ladies' toilet facility with a ladies' urinal according to the invention as explained above, which is mounted on a vertical wall, and a laterally arranged shielding wall which extends from the vertical wall 0 perpendicular to it and is bent diagonally inwards as it continues.

The design of the women's urinal according to the invention enables women to go to the toilet quickly and easily, as can be seen from the above. The woman can use her underwear, which only needs to be removed slightly, as additional protection from the front. The shielding wall according to the invention is sufficient to provide protection from the front of an entrance door to the toilet, so that a cubicle equipped with a lockable door can be omitted. The shielding wall is bent inwards in such a way that the urinal is also partially shielded from the front, so that when entering the toilet it is only possible to see the urinal once you have already walked past it. By eliminating a lockable door, the use of the toilet facility is faster compared to a facility equipped with a lockable door, since on the one hand the locking and opening process of the door is omitted.

The screening wall is preferably positioned at such a distance above the floor, e.g. between 10 cm and 25 cm, that the use of the urinal can be seen from the outside. The height of the screening wall is selected in such a way that complete visual protection is achieved.

According to Figures 1 to 3, a women's urinal 1 according to the invention has a bowl 2 which, in plan view (see Figure 1), has the shape of a narrow, elongated trapezoid or oval tapering towards the front (downwards in Figure 1) with sides 3, 4 rounded in the shape of a circular arc at the front and back. The bowl 2 is, as can be seen in particular from Figures 1 and 3, funnel-shaped towards the bottom.

The bowl rim 5 has a front, horizontal

running section 6 and a rear section 7 running at an angle of 20° to 45°, preferably 30°, obliquely upwards. The rear section 7 is widened outwards in a collar-like manner all around compared to the front section 6. The front section 6 of the bowl rim 5 extends at least approximately to the longitudinal center of the opening of the bowl 2 formed by the bowl rim 5 and there merges into the rear widened section 7. Furthermore, the rear section 7 of the bowl rim 5 is widened outwards in a wing-like manner at its front ends, forming front end edges 8 pointing obliquely outwards and forwards. The bowl rim 5 thus has in its rear section 7, as can be seen in particular from Figure 1, an outwardly projecting, collar-shaped widening 10 which runs in an arc around the rear section 7. In this embodiment, the course of the collar-shaped extension 10 around the rear section 7 of the bowl 2 is circular.

An odor trap 14 is molded onto the outlet opening 12 of the bowl 2, onto which in turn a waste water pipe 15 with a waste water connection 16 in the form of a pipe flange is molded.

Below the bowl rim 5, adjacent to it in the rear end section of the bowl 2, there is a flushing water connection 17 in the form of a recess formed in the key rim 5 -

cylindrical recess, for which purpose the key edge 5 is thickened downwards at this point.

The bowl rim 5 is formed around the bowl 2 as an inwardly projecting collar 18, which in turn is formed as a closed, tubular channel. Holes 19 are formed along the underside of the channel-shaped collar 18. The flushing water connection 17 is connected to the channel, so that flushing water can enter the channel and from there through the holes 19 around the bowl 2 into the latter. Since urine usually hits the front part 2' of the bowl 2, the collar 18 is accordingly preferably provided with holes 19 in its front section.

As can be seen in particular from Figures 3 and 4, triangular support walls 21 extending downwards are formed between the front edges 8, 9 of the rear section 6 of the bowl rim 5 and the outer side 20 of the bowl 2.

A flange edge 23 extending to the rear is formed on the side and on the rear side 22 of the bowl 2 for wall mounting of the urinal 1. Eyelets 24 for passing screws through are formed on the inside of the flange edge 23.

In order to achieve the smoothest possible outer surface without corners, covering walls 25 (see Figure 4) are formed between the flange edge 23, the outer circumference of the widened rear section 7 of the bowl edge 5 and the support walls 21. Furthermore, a covering wall 26 extending around the front of the bowl 2 is formed between the two lateral support walls 21 and the front section 6 of the bowl edge 5, which, as can be seen from Figure 2, merges into the front boundary wall of the bowl 2 adjacent to the bowl edge 5. This completely smooth outer surface prevents dirt from accumulating and makes cleaning the urinal I easier.

Figure 5 shows a section through another embodiment of the inventive women's urinal 1. This embodiment corresponds to the embodiment explained above with the exception that the collar-shaped bowl edge 5 of the bowl 2 is designed in the form of a channel 27 that is open at the bottom. The flushing water connection 0 17 is connected to the channel 27 so that flushing water can flow into the channel 27 and from there into the bowl 2 around it.

When using the women's urinal 1 according to the invention, the woman stands slightly bent over the urinal 1 with her back to the wall and slightly bent legs, with the legs positioned to the right and left of the front part 2' of the bowl 2. The side support walls 21, which have wall surfaces facing forward, form a stop for the lower legs, so that the correct position over the bowl 2 can be guided and thus quickly assumed. The upward-facing, wide surface of the collar-shaped widening 10 of the rear section 7 of the bowl rim 5 forms an inclined and thus raised stop surface for the woman's buttocks, so that this is also guided with regard to the required knee bend.

As can be seen from Figures 6 and 7, the respective shielding wall 29 initially runs straight from the wall 28 and parallel to the women's urinal 1 until it reaches beyond it to the front. The respective shielding wall 29 is bent towards the associated women's urinal 1, whereby the bent shielding wall part 30 forms an obtuse angle with the shielding wall part 31 that is perpendicular to the wall 29. The bent shielding wall part 30 extends transversely to the women's urinal 1 until it almost reaches beyond it and thus forms a certain visual protection to the front. The toilet facility according to the invention is arranged in such a way that the side shielding walls 29 of the entrance door (not shown) face the toilet room. A user in Figure 6 would therefore enter the toilet room from the right. The shielding walls 2 9 are each arranged at a distance above the floor so that it is clear from the outside whether a facility is occupied. Due to the bent shielding wall section 3 0, a user entering the toilet room and walking past the toilet facility would have to turn around slightly in order to look into the toilet facility located diagonally behind her.
