Mouthpiece for smoking products

The invention relates to a blank made of a flexible, film-like material for forming a mouthpiece for smoking articles, a mouthpiece for smoking articles formed therefrom and a smoking article with such a mouthpiece.

Generic cuts, which are usually made of paper, have proven to be useful for producing cylindrical mouthpieces. Such mouthpieces are used in particular when rolling your own tobacco products such as cigarettes, to prevent pieces of tobacco from getting into the mouth when smoking and to ensure that the tobacco is used as efficiently as possible.

However, the known cuts and the mouthpieces made from them are obviously not suitable for the production of conical tobacco products, cigarettes, etc., since the

Wrapping paper becomes wrinkled or torn at the transition from the cylindrical mouthpiece to the conical cigarette.

The invention has for its object to improve a known blank for forming a mouthpiece so that a conical mouthpiece can be produced in the simplest possible manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention by a blank made of a flexible, film-like material for forming a mouthpiece for smoking articles, which is characterized in that it has a circular sector-shaped shape with an outer diameter, an inner diameter and an angular extension. This makes it possible in a surprisingly simple manner to produce a conical mouthpiece by conventionally rolling or unfolding a substantially elongated blank.

The blank is preferably made of paper, preferably uncoated recycled paper.

The grammage of the paper can be between 120 and 150 g/m ² and is preferably 135 g/m ² .

The outer diameter of the cut can be between 50 and 90 mm, the inner diameter between 30 and 50 mm.

It can be provided that the angular extent of the cut is between 60 and 90°, preferably 90°.

It is practical for an end section to be provided with fold lines or perforated so that the cut can be folded accordion-like in its initial area and then rolled.

The invention further relates to a mouthpiece for smoking articles formed from a blank according to the invention. The mouthpiece can be formed by rolling or alternatively by being folded in an inner region and rolled in an outer region.

Finally, the invention relates to a smoking article with a mouthpiece according to the invention.

Fig. 1 shows a top view of the basic shape of a blank according to the invention made of a flexible, film-like material, for example paper, the blank being designated as a whole by 1. The blank 1 essentially has the shape of a curved strip which is delimited by curved side edges 2, 3 and straight end edges 4, 5. The diameter i of the inner, circular side edge, the diameter a of the outer, circular side edge and the length of the blank, which is determined by the extension angle φ, determine the cone angle α (Fig. 2) and the width b of the blank or the length of the mouthpiece formed from it.

The mouthpiece according to the invention is formed by rolling the blank 1, starting at one of the end edges 4 or 5, or first folding it and then rolling it, whereby the truncated cone-shaped mouthpiece 6 shown in longitudinal section in Fig. 2 is formed.

Fig. 2 further shows the use of the mouthpiece 6 with a wrapping paper 7, which combines the mouthpiece 6 with smoking material 8, for example tobacco, to form a unit.

Fig. 3 explains in two cross-sectional views two different manufacturing variants of a mouthpiece 6 starting from a blank 1. As can be seen from Fig. 3(a), the blank 1 can first be folded a few times in an accordion-like manner, starting for example from the end edge 5, before the remaining length of the blank is rolled around the folded section. This variant ensures a good blocking effect against the passage of tobacco crumbs, particularly in the middle area of the mouthpiece. In order to facilitate the aforementioned accordion-like folding of the blank 1 in its initial area, folding lines or perforations 9 (Fig. 1) can be provided adjacent to the side edge 5.

Alternatively, the blank 1 may be rolled over its entire length, as shown in Fig. 3(b).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the blank 1 is connected to numerous other identical or similar blanks on one of its side edges 4 or 5 to form a tear-off stack or block, the connection preferably being made by gluing.
