The invention relates to a roller, in particular for sports shoes such as inline skates, roller skates or the like, consisting of a rim-like inner ring, which can be mounted via its bore on an axle connected to and connectable to the sports shoe and is enclosed on its outer shell by a race.

In the case of the rollers for sports shoes such as inline skates, roller skates or similar, which are known from the state of the art, their inner ring is permanently enclosed by the race ring; i.e. the inner ring forms a unit with the race ring. The inner ring can, for example, be made of a plastic and be covered by a rubber race ring.

Such rollers are subject to relatively high levels of wear during operation. If the race is worn out, the entire roller, including the inner ring, must be removed and replaced.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a roller of the previously known type in which the cited disadvantages are eliminated and in particular whose use over its entire service life is significantly more cost-effective and environmentally friendly than rollers designed to date.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by

a) that the inner ring is made of two or more parts, the parting surface of which preferably runs parallel or along its longitudinal median plane;

b) that the race is designed as a separate, removable part compared to the inner ring and

c) that the outer shell of the inner ring has a substantially concave profile when viewed in cross-section, on which the race is or can be fastened with a complementary profile of its bore.

Because the inner ring is split in two according to the invention, it is possible to replace just the race ring if necessary using simple means and without any significant prior knowledge. This is usually done when it is worn or when it is necessary to use a race ring with different adhesion properties and/or degrees of hardness.

The axle must be removed from the bore of the inner ring, which then makes the race accessible for replacement.

It is also proposed to provide an outer shell of the outer ring with a profile that is essentially concave in cross-section. This profile ensures that the race ring is very well fixed in position on the inner ring by means of a positive and frictional connection. The proposed bed for the race ring also ensures excellent axial fixation during operation of the roller.

In a further development of the invention, it is proposed to provide a centering in the area of the inner end faces of the parts of the inner ring. For example, this can be made as a ring or ring-like projection. The parts of the inner ring are thus very well secured in their shearing direction or against twisting relative to one another.

In concrete terms, the invention proposes that the running ring preferably be made from a plastic such as rubber or hard plastic. If this is provided with reinforcement inserts, its service life is increased or its wear properties are improved. If necessary, suitable wear protection measures can be taken on the running surface itself. It is also intended to manufacture the inner ring from a lightweight material, for example plastic or sheet metal. This further reduces the overall mass of the roller and has a very positive effect on the handling of the entire sports shoe.

Finally, in an embodiment of the invention, it is proposed to step the bore of the inner ring in the area of its front sides. In each of these steps, for example, a rolling bearing such as a ball or needle bearing is accommodated. This rolling bearing can be included in the scope of delivery, i.e. pre-assembled with the inner ring. However, it is also intended to support the roller on the axle via a plain bearing.

Figure 1 discloses a roller 1 for a sports shoe such as an inline skate or a roller skate. This roller 1 consists of a rim-like inner ring 2, which can be mounted on an axle (not shown) via its bore 3. This axle is connected or can be connected to the sports shoe via suitable connecting means.

The inner ring 2 consists of two parts a, b separated along the longitudinal center plane. These parts a, b are fixed to each other in the assembled state via a centering 10. For example, a ring-like projection 11 extends from part a, which is received in a complementary receptacle 12 of the opposite part b.

The race 5 is manufactured as a separate and removable component compared to the inner ring 2. An outer shell 4 of the inner ring 2 is manufactured like a rim. In principle, it has a concave geometry when viewed in cross-section. According to the design according to Figure 1, it is stepped and, according to the design according to Figure 2, it is wave-shaped in the direction of the end faces 13, 14 of the inner ring 2.

The expert will also see from the drawing that the race 5 is made of a plastic with a spherical raceway.

If the race ring 5 is worn, the entire roller 1 no longer needs to be replaced thanks to the design according to the invention. It is only necessary to change the race ring 5. In doing so, the axle for the inner ring 2, which was previously indirectly coupled to the sports shoe, for example via a screw connection, is pulled out of the hole 3. The inner ring 2 then breaks down into its parts a, b and releases the race ring 5. A new race ring 5 is then fixed opposite one of the parts a, b and the other part b or a is fed in and centered. The final assembly of the roller 1 can then take place by placing it on the axle (not shown).

A bore 7 of the race 5 is manufactured in its profile to be complementary to the outer shell 4 of the inner ring 2. The stepped or wave-shaped geometry of the outer shell 4 of the inner ring 2 ensures that the race 5 is excellently axially fixed.

In extensions 15, 16 of the bore 3 of the inner ring 2, a rolling bearing (not shown) can be accommodated with its outer ring.

The entire roller 1 is supported on the axle mentioned. It is conceivable and intended, for example, to use the bore 3 as a direct raceway for the rolling elements of the rolling bearing. The same can apply to the axle as an inner ring.
