Motorized hand tool

The invention relates to a motor-driven hand tool such as an eccentric, angle or orbital sander with a handle molded onto the housing, whereby the side of the housing opposite the grinding head is ergonomically designed as a handle.

For example, such a motor-driven hand tool is known (EP 0791 435 A1), which is operated as a hand-held eccentric sander. In order to enable the hand tool to be held or supported better, it is provided with an additional handle that can be removed and attached near the eccentrically driven grinding head in the lower area of the tool body. The main disadvantage of this known design is that such a handle can be lost and, for reasons of space, must be removed after the device has been used. The handle also needs to be removed if, for example, you have to sand along an edge.

The invention is based on the object of designing the handle of such a motor-operated hand tool in such a way that it is an undetachable part of the device and has a favorable ergonomic shape for optimal handling in every position of use.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the handle, directed away from the handgrip, is connected to an additional handle part with a knob ergonomically adapted to the handle, which is formed on an arm, whereby the arm is pivotably mounted on the housing or can be pulled out or pushed in and the contour of the

When the additional handle is folded in or pushed in, the knob has a uniform contour with the upper contour of the handle and when the additional handle is folded out or pulled out, the back of the handle is ergonomically adapted to the ball of the hand.

An advantageous embodiment provides that the arm is mounted on bushings near the grinding head by means of an axis and the swivel position of the arm can be fixed by means of a locking screw.

It is also advantageous that the additional handle part can be pushed into or pulled out of the housing as an extension of the handle and is ergonomically adapted to the respective application in both positions.

The device shown in the drawings has a handle 2 molded onto a housing 1, whereby the housing part adjoining the handle, i.e. the upper contour of the housing, is ergonomically designed as a handle 3. Opposite this handle 3 is a grinding head 7 with a grinding wheel 12.

An additional handle part 4 with an ergonomically shaped knob 5 is attached to the handle 3, directed away from the handle 2, as a continuation and end of the handle 3, whereby this knob 5 is rounded on its front side 13. The upper contour of the housing thus results in optimal ergonomics with the knob contour of the additional handle 4 when the additional handle 4 is folded in.

This handle part 4 is arranged as an independent part on an arm 6 with the knob 5, whereby in one position of use (Fig. 1 and 2) the arm 6 rests against the housing 1. In other positions of use (e.g. Fig. 3) this additional handle part 4 can be folded away from the housing 1. For this purpose, bushings 10 are formed on the lower end of the arm 6 at a distance from one another, which accommodate a holding disk 8 on the housing side between them. An axle 9 is inserted through the bushings 10 and the holding disk 8 and the arm 6 can be locked in any swivel position on one side using a locking screw 11 screwed onto the axle 9. If the additional handle 4 is folded out, the flattened back 14 again represents a grip position that is ergonomically precisely adapted to the ball of the hand.

Instead of pivoting, the additional handle can also be mounted in the housing 1 so that it can be pushed in or pulled out (Fig. 4). In the embodiment shown, its arm 6' is guided into the housing 1 as an extension of the handle 3. In the pulled out position, its back 14 is then ergonomically adapted to the ball of the hand. When pushed in, it adapts to the shape of the housing.

Claims (3)

Protection claims 1) Motor-driven hand tool such as an eccentric, angle or orbital sander with a handle molded onto the housing, the side of the housing opposite the grinding head being ergonomically designed as a handle, characterized in that an additional handle part (4) with a knob (5) ergonomically adapted to the handle (3) and molded onto an arm (6) is connected to the handle (3), directed away from the handle (2), the arm (6) being held on the housing (1) so that it can be pivoted or pulled out or inserted and the contour of the knob (5) has a uniform contour with the upper contour of the housing of the handle (3) when the additional handle part (4) is folded in or pushed in, and that when the additional handle part (4) is folded out or pulled out, the back (14) of the handle part (4) is ergonomically adapted to the ball of the hand. 2) Hand tool according to claim 1, characterized in that the arm (6) is held near the grinding head (7) by means of an axis (9) on bushings (10) and the pivoting position of the arm (6) can be fixed by means of a locking screw (11). 3) Hand tool according to claim 1, characterized in that the additional handle part (4) can be pushed into or pulled out of the housing (1) as an extension of the handle (3) and is ergonomically adapted to the respective intended use in both positions.
