"Three-way adjustable writing and reading desk as lap desk, bed desk and table desk"

When writing and reading while sitting or lying down in the traditional way, i.e. without any documents or using a horizontal surface, the inevitable forward bending of the upper body places excessive strain on the intervertebral discs and back muscles. After a short time, tension and pain set in, which can become chronic over time and have a negative effect on a person's overall well-being.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of obtaining a simple and cost-effective solution to counteract the disadvantages described above when writing and reading while sitting or lying down.

This problem is solved by the features listed in the claims.

The invention enables people, especially those whose freedom of movement is limited in that they have to spend most of their time sitting or are even confined to bed, to read and write in a relaxed and pain-free manner. The three-way adjustability of the writing and reading desk as a lap desk, bed desk and table desk means that an optimal writing and reading position can be achieved.

The figures show the writing and reading desk with cover plate (1), side walls (2), rear wall (3), hinged base plate (5) and inner adjustment flap (4). The side walls (2), rear wall (3) and cover plate (1) are firmly connected; the hinged base plate (5) and the inner adjustment flap (4) are each attached with 2 hinges (8) and are therefore movable. The writing and reading desk is prevented from opening accidentally by 2 magnets (9). 2 handle holes (11) in the rear wall allow it to be carried comfortably. To prevent slipping, the hinged base plate (5) and rear wall (3) are covered with foam rubber (10). The cover plate (1) protrudes on both sides so far that it is possible to clamp the writing and reading material in place if necessary.

The cover plate (1) has an angle of inclination of 22° according to Figures 2 and 3. In order to achieve an angle of inclination of 33° according to Figures 4 and 5, the hinged base plate (5) is opened so far that the inner adjustment flap (4), which is attached to the rear wall (3) with 2 hinges (8), folds down until it rests on the hinged base plate (5) in a vertical position, parallel to the rear wall (3). In Figures 6 and 7, the writing and reading desk is on the back (3). The inner adjustment flap (4) rests horizontally on the rear wall (3) and the hinged base plate (5) serves as a support. This position is particularly suitable for writing and reading while lying down.

There are 2 rounded strips (6 and 7) on the cover plate (1) that are intended to prevent the writing and reading materials from slipping. The strip (7) is kept so flat that the arm and hand rest is not affected (see Figure 2 - 7).

According to Figures 2-5, the bar (6) serves as a storage space for pencils etc. According to Figures 6 and 7, the bar (6) prevents the writing and reading materials from slipping.

The interior of the closed writing and reading desk according to Figures 2 and 3 can be used as a storage compartment for writing and reading materials up to DIN 4 A size.

An inventive, three-way adjustable writing and reading desk as a lap desk, bed desk and table desk offers the user many advantages, as it makes reading and writing while sitting and lying down much easier. The different angles of inclination of the cover plate promote a relaxed and healthy posture. The natural viewing angle is taken into account and eye strain is avoided.

The material chosen here, wood, allows for cost-effective production. The wood thickness of 8 mm results in a low overall weight. This has the advantage that the writing and reading desk is easy to transport and its weight does not put a strain on the user's body during use.

The material wood allows production in different types of wood and color combinations.

Furthermore, the design of the writing and reading desk allows it to be made from other materials.

Three-way adjustable writing and reading desk as lap desk, bed desk and table desk, whereby - the cover plate (1), the side walls (2) and the rear wall (3) are firmly connected, - the hinged base plate (5) and the inner adjustment flap (4) are each attached with 2 hinges (8) and are therefore movable, - the cover plate (1) protrudes far enough on both sides to allow the writing and reading material to be clamped in place if necessary, - there is a rounded strip on the top and bottom of the cover plate (1) (6 and 7), - the construction allows production from different types of wood and colour combinations as well as from other materials. 2. Three-way adjustable writing and reading desk as lap desk, bed desk and table desk according to protection claim 1, wherein - the cover plate (1) has an inclination angle of 22° when the writing and reading desk is closed. 3. Three-way adjustable writing and reading desk as lap desk, bed desk and table desk according to protection claim 1, wherein - in order to obtain an angle of inclination of 33°, the hinged base plate (5) is opened so far that the inner adjustment flap (4), which is attached to the rear wall (3) with 2 hinges (8), folds down until it rests in a vertical position, parallel to the rear wall (3), on the hinged base plate (5).
