Description

Device for securing compact discs.

Compact disc cases for storing compact discs in the usual design cannot be closed. This means that the compact disc can be removed from the compact disc case and used by unauthorized persons at any time.

The increasing attention to data protection requires strict control over the use of compact discs due to the information stored on them.

This applies both to safe storage and to use in commercially available compact disc players.

The invention specified in the generic term is based on the object of creating a compact disc case[5] for holding compact discs[6J, which prevents the removal and use of compact discs[6].

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention ensures that the compact disc[6] can be stored in the compact disc case[5] protected from dust and that the compact disc[6] cannot be removed from the compact disc case[5] by unauthorized persons.

A further embodiment of the invention is specified in claim 2 and claim 3:

The further development according to protection claim 2 enables further protection of the data stored on the compact disc[6j, since the security can also be used in the center hole of the compact disc[6] without a surrounding compact disc cover[5]. Protection claim 3 ensures that the security cannot be removed from the center hole of the compact disc[6] when closed, because the collars[3] at both ends prevent removal due to their larger diameter than the center hole.

Fig. 1 shows that the safety catch cannot be removed from the compact disc[6] even if the compact disc cover[5] is removed by force, because the collars[3] on the locking part[1] and the counterpart[2] prevent it from sliding out of the center hole of the compact disc[6]. The collars[3] become thinner towards the edge, so that the preparation for the forcible removal of the safety catch (for example by clamping it in a vice) is made more difficult, since the attack surface for corresponding tools is reduced.

Claims (5)

Device for securing compact discs, characterized in that the device has a locking part[1] and a counterpart that can be detached therefrom, and that the locking part is guided through the compact disc case[5] and through the center hole of the compact disc[6] located therein, and is locked in the counterpart[2]. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking part[1j is inserted through the center hole of the Compact Disc[6] into the counterpart[2] and is closed on the other side of the Compact Disc[6]. 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking part[1] and the counterpart[2] each have a collar[3] at one end, the diameter of which is larger than the center hole of the compact disc[6]. 4. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the locking part[1] is rotatable about its longitudinal axis in the closed state and is arranged immovably in the counterpart[2] in the vertical direction. 5.
