The invention relates to a plastic box for storing bottles, with a box base and four side walls and partition walls hinged thereto, wherein the partition walls or the partition walls and the side walls form compartments for the bottles, as well as with openings arranged in the side walls which serve as handle openings and for viewing the stored bottles.

From DE-U 295 19 374 such a box is known which has at least one projection on the side wall which engages in the lower area of the bottle and which has a further projection on the inner wall which engages the cylindrical part of the bottle.

The bottle is placed at an angle in the compartment and rests against the outer projection. When the bottle is released, it tries to straighten itself and rests against the inner projection. This prevents the bottle from accidentally twisting after it has been placed. However, both placing and removing the bottles using mechanical equipment is problematic.

The invention is based on the object of designing the box mentioned at the beginning in such a way that the bottles are arranged in a twist-proof manner at least in the outer compartments, but can nevertheless be inserted and removed mechanically in a simple manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the floor in the area of the individual compartments, in particular in the compartments adjoining the side walls, is inclined at least in sections.

This design means that the bottles tip when they are placed and come into contact with a partition wall. At the same time, the bottom edge of the bottle comes into contact with the side wall or the second partition wall opposite the first partition wall, so that the bottle can no longer twist on its own. The bottles are both inserted and removed in a vertical position, so that these processes can easily be carried out by machine.

A box is also known from DE-C-37 28 291 in which the bottles are transported vertically into and out of the box and twisting is prevented by the slats provided there. However, when empty plastic bottles are placed in the box, their own weight is not enough to move the slats far enough for the bottles to sink to the bottom of the box by themselves. Boxes with slats of this kind cannot be used to place plastic bottles.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention also lies in the fact that a first floor section adjoining the side wall or the first intermediate wall runs essentially horizontally or only slightly inclined and only a second floor section adjoining it is inclined.

This makes it even safer to tip the bottles while ensuring that the bottom edge of the bottle rests against the side wall or the first partition wall.

It has also proven to be particularly advantageous if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the second base section is lowered by the inclination to such an extent that the bottle placed therein rests with its upper section against the partition wall and does not touch the second, inclined base section.

It can also be very advantageous if the side wall is provided with a recess in the section below the opening.

The bottle can fit into this recess with its lower edge section.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the side wall in its section below the opening is provided with at least one projection which can grip the inserted bottle.

This projection is conveniently adapted to the shape of the bottle and holds the bottle in the respective position against twisting when tilted.

Another very advantageous embodiment of the invention is that a third section is provided on the bottom between the first and second sections, which is provided with a raised portion that engages in the hollow bottom of a suitably equipped bottle.

Fig. 1 shows a bottle crate 1, only partially shown, which has a base 2 from which four side walls 3 and partition walls 4 rise. The side walls 3 and the partition walls 4 form compartments 5 for storing bottles 6. The base 2 is only horizontal within the compartments 5 formed adjacent to the side walls 3 on a small section 21 that is directly adjacent to the side wall. The adjoining inner section 22 of the compartment base, on the other hand, is inclined downwards and inwards, so that - as can be seen particularly in Fig. 2 - when the bottle 6 is placed vertically, only its outermost edge section rests on the base section 21. In particular, a filled bottle 6 will tip inwards due to its weight, whereby the lower edge section of the bottle slides against the lower section 31 of the side wall 3 and the upper section of the bottle rests against the intermediate wall 4. So much friction is created at both contact points that the

Bottle no longer twists automatically. This ensures that the bottle label 7 or a corresponding print is clearly visible through the opening 8 in the side wall 3.

As shown in Fig.3, the inner side of the side wall 3 can be completely straight.

However, Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which the inside of the side wall 3 has a recess 9 into which the bottle 6 engages. This recess is expediently designed with a larger radius than the radius of the bottle, so that a point-like or linear contact of the bottle is again ensured.

At the upper edge of the lower section 31 of the side wall, as shown in Fig. 5, a projection 10 can also be formed, which, after the bottle 6 has been tilted, engages in a recess 11 of the bottle and thereby additionally secures the bottle against twisting.

The shape of the attachment and its placement is determined according to the design of the bottles to be adjusted.

Fig. 6 shows several possibilities for how the bottle 6 can be supported with its lower section on the bottle crate 1.

The projection already shown in Fig. 5 is designated with 10, which engages the top of a collar of the bottle. However, the bottle 6 can also only rest on the lower section 31, which also provides sufficient friction and thus prevents it from twisting. In addition, a further section 23 can be provided between the two base sections 21 and 22, which has a raised section pointing upwards towards the bottom of the bottle. This raised section engages in the hollow bottom of the bottle 6 and gives the bottle additional support when tilted.

The measures for tilting the bottle 6 can also be provided in the compartments 5 formed exclusively by partition walls. This gives the bottle a clear position even in these inner compartments and does not tend to rattle.
