The invention relates to a protective cover for a t-piece with a partially spherical holder for a ball which is attached to the end of a rod.

In conventional foot plates, the ball mounts are partially spherical. The ball of the ball joint sits unprotected in the ball mount.

There is a gap at the edge of the ball socket's receiving area in which grease and dirt residues can build up, leading to contamination, bacteria and the formation of germs. This can lead to hygiene problems in certain industries, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical industries. To prevent this, complex cuffs have been used.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a foot plate with a ball joint in such a way that the joint is protected as completely as possible from contamination such as dust or liquids.

This object is achieved according to the invention in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1 by the characterizing features of claim 1.

By covering the problematic ball receiving area with a screen that is adapted to the outer contour of the partially spherical ball receiving area, the penetration of dirt, deposits and germs is prevented.
