There are already several new ergonomic school desk models with height adjustment and tiltable worktop on the market. A utility model was registered on November 2, 1995 for a conversion kit developed by the applicant for the subsequent ergonomic optimization of school desks (roll number 295 09 783.3). Other patents are unknown.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating an improved mechanism that enables the ergonomically sensible retrofitting of existing school desks in a simplified and cost-effective manner.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1 (conversion kit for the ergonomic optimization of school desks).

The invention achieves that

- existing school desks can be converted to be more ergonomic and do not have to be replaced by new desks.

- the table height can be adjusted to the child's body size using the post shoe or 2 L-shaped post shoe parts - even over the course of a school year, without any organizational problems

The additional installation of bed hinges (3) and furniture hinges (2) also enables an ergonomically sensible inclination of the worktop. The installation of angled furniture hinges (2) prevents fingers from becoming trapped.

This means that the table top can be tilted by 16° (ideal for writing and reading), but it can also be lowered to 0° (e.g. for crafting). A protective strip (4) prevents work materials from sliding down when the table top is tilted.

The table legs are first cut in half. By inserting two post shoes (screwed together) with holes, the table height can be adjusted variably. By using 2 L-shaped post shoe parts, greater variability is achieved.

To make the table top tiltable, it is first detached from the table frame and then fitted with bed hinges (for variable adjustment of the table tilt) and angled furniture hinges (for screwing the table top to the frame). To prevent fingers from getting caught, the furniture hinges are angled by 30 mm on one side.
