Sheet metal/housing cabinets are used in numerous applications in both commercial and private areas, e.g. as control cabinets, computer and electronics housing cabinets, lockers, light gun cabinets, shelving cabinets, etc.

Such cabinets usually have a base section, three wall sections (2 side walls and one rear wall), a ceiling section and a cabinet door. In such sheet metal cabinets, the wall sections are usually permanently connected to each other and to the base and ceiling sections by welding, riveting, screwing or other fixed connections.

The larger the metal cabinet, the higher the transport costs from the manufacturer to the retailer and to the end user (“a lot of air is transported!”). Often, especially with larger cabinets, the subsequent installation and assembly conditions are such that the transport to the place of use does not allow for an optimal cabinet configuration due to the limited space available for domestic transport.

In addition, transporting even a medium-sized cupboard at home requires the involvement of at least two people.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a stable, pluggable sheet metal housing cabinet that can be easily transported when dismantled into individual parts, can be configured to its final dimensions at the site of use and can be assembled at the site of use - ideally by one person - due to the plug connection. The cabinet itself can be dismantled and reassembled at any time.

This is achieved by

1. In the sheet metal base part (drawing 1) on the top side, hanging hooks (drawing 2) are stamped using a punching technique with a gap just over the sheet metal thickness, into which the wall parts, which have hanging eyes at predetermined locations, are inserted from the front.

2. The rear wall (drawing 3) has a bevel on all four sides as well as punched-out hanging eyes at the top and bottom for hooking the floor and ceiling parts, and hanging hooks on the right and left for putting the side walls together (drawing 4);

The side walls have a U-edge on the back with side hanging eyes, so that they can be hooked into the back wall with the hooks.

3. The cupboard gains stability from the all-round edges of the wall sections, which are welded at the corners. This ensures that the side walls rest flat on the floor and ceiling sections with high stability.

After assembling the rear wall, which is leaned against an existing wall when assembled by 1 person, and after assembling the side walls, which can all be done by 1 fitter, the three wall sections are connected to one another at the top and firmly fixed by sliding on the cabinet lid (drawing 5).

The lid also contains hooks and is inserted from the front.
The construction is extremely stable and torsion-free (drawing 6).

5. On the left and right - as required - there is a door hinge on the front of the side wall, into which the cabinet door is hung, which sits flush in Z-edges in the floor and ceiling sections as well as the two side sections.

The invention underlying claim 2 prevents the cabinet from being dismantled accidentally.

To do this, after assembling the cabinet, the two side panels are fixed with a self-tapping screw in the holes provided at the bottom of the floor section and at the top of the ceiling section.
In addition, the door lock rods that lock into the floor and ceiling sections prevent the floor or ceiling sections from being accidentally removed and the cabinet dismantled when the cabinet door is closed.
