The invention relates to a modular shelving system.

Modular shelving systems are known that consist of individual bodies that are attached to ladders. The disadvantage of these systems is that they are rigid in their construction

In addition, such systems often consist of a large number of individual components and/or are difficult for inexperienced end users to set up without professional help.

The invention is based on the problem of developing a strictly modular shelving system which can be expanded as required in horizontal and vertical directions, can be subsequently supplemented with drawers, doors and rear walls and can be converted into other combinations and consists of a few different individual parts.

This object is achieved according to the invention with the features listed in claim 1. Further developments and advantageous embodiments are the subject of the auxiliary and dependent claims.

The invention means that the shelf can be adapted very flexibly to the given room situation and the desired function. If the available space changes during the period of use, as is the case when moving house, for example, new arrangements can be created from the existing elements. For example, it can be built up in height instead of width, etc.

In addition, the modular design makes it possible to subsequently attach drawers, back panels and doors to the existing bodies, thus creating dust-free and visually concealed storage space without having to purchase completely new bodies or make new holes or the like. This means that a wide range of combinations can be created, from side tables and low sideboards to entire shelving units and room dividers.

The further development according to claims 5, 6 and 7 enables the accommodation of wider objects, the further development according to claim 10 enables the placement of flat objects between the separated body walls, the further development according to claim 9 enables the shelf to be used as a room divider and the further development according to claim 11 enables the shelf to always be placed in a vertical position even on uneven floors.

This system is therefore particularly suitable due to the possible integration of drawers, doors and rear panels as well as the possibility of L- and T-shaped

Floor plan arrangements, in addition to the private living area, also for the office area. An embodiment of the invention is explained using Figures 1 and 2.

Fig. 1 shows the shelving system, which consists of bodies attached to rods. The different bodies (1, 8, 10, 13 and 14) are presented here in a possible arrangement.

The basic building block of the system is a cube (1) consisting of four walls that is open on the front and back.

The identical side walls (2) of this basic element each have 4 holes (3) perpendicular to their plane. Two of these are located one behind the other at the same height in the upper half of the side wall and two are located one behind the other at the same height in the lower half of the side wall. In addition, the side wall is symmetrical in the upper and lower halves, which means that both the two front holes are arranged exactly vertically one above the other and the two rear holes are arranged vertically one above the other.

Metal round rods (4) are attached to the vertically stacked holes using connecting elements (16, 18). In the example shown, the connecting elements are screws (18) and spacer sleeves (16). The screws go from the inside through the side wall (2) of the body and through the spacer sleeves, and they find their abutment in the holes (5) in the rod (4) with internal threads. The spacer sleeves determine the distance between the side wall and the rod. Since the screws (18) only go up to the middle of the rod hole (5), screws can also be screwed into the same hole from the opposite side, and the shelf can thus be extended to the side as desired by adding the body and rod and the body and rod.

In the example shown, the rods have the length of the cube dimension plus the distance between two adjacent body walls. There is an axial hole (6) on the upper end and a stepped pin (19) of the same diameter at the lower end, which allows several rods to be inserted into one another and the shelf to be extended vertically by one cube element per rod. Figure 1 shows a version with 2 cube elements and 2 rods on top of each other. The position of the holes in the rods is chosen so that the

4 holes in two rods inserted into each other are all the same distance apart, which creates the square grid of the individual bodies that are pushed apart, however, it is also possible to offset the hole spacing on this grid by one hole spacing when attaching the bodies vertically. In the example shown, the lowest rods are inserted into a foot piece (17) which creates a greater distance from the floor and also accommodates the foot (7) that is provided with a threaded bolt (20) and can therefore be adjusted in height by turning.

The smallest conceivable shelf therefore consists of a cube with 4 rods attached to the sides by a total of 8 pairs of connecting elements (16/18) as well as the four base pieces and feet.

The cubic base body (1) can be replaced by two individual bodies (8) that are identical in width and depth but no more than half as high, the side walls of which are also symmetrical and have two holes in each side wall, one behind the other, through which the connection to the rods is made in the manner described above.

Guide rails can be attached to the holes in the side walls of the bodies (8), on which drawers (9) slide.

At this point, we would like to point out once again that it is possible to offset the holes by one hole spacing on this grid when attaching the bodies vertically due to the same hole spacing (see above). It would therefore also be possible to start with a small body (8), arrange a standard body (1) above it and finish with another small body (8). In order to enable L- and T-shaped layouts, the cube-shaped corner connection single body (10) has a rear wall (11) that has 4 holes (12) and the arrangement of which corresponds to that of the holes on the two side walls, which in turn correspond to that of the base body (1). This means that this body, which is only open on one side, can be attached both over the two side walls and over the rear wall with the connection of the body and rod described above.

Furthermore, Figure 1 shows the elements (13, 14 and 15) described in claims 5, 6 and 7, which differ from those described above only in the wider top and bottom walls of the bodies and thus allow the shelf to be used for wider objects.

Modular shelving system consisting of bodies attached to vertical support elements, characterized, that the basic body is a cube (1), the cube is open at the front and back. the two side walls (2) of the cube are symmetrically provided with 4 holes (3) each the rods (4) have transverse bores (5) which are at the same distance from each other as the two vertically superimposed bores (3) in the side walls (2) of the cubes (1), a connection (18) is made via the transverse bore (5) and the bore (3) in the cube, and the rods have axial bores (6) in the end faces which enable the rods to be extended and thus the shelving system to be expanded in the vertical direction by additional cubes by inserting an additional rod. 2. Modular shelving system in modification of L, characterized in that the cube (1) has a rear wall (11) which has 4 holes (12) and whose arrangement corresponds to that of the holes on the two side walls, thereby enabling L- and T-shaped layouts. 5. Modular shelving system in modification of claim L, characterized in that the cube (1) is replaced by a body (13) identical in height and depth but wider with the same side walls as the cube (1). 6. Modular shelving system according to 5., characterized in that the wider body (13) is replaced by two individual bodies (14) which are identical in width and depth to the latter, but at most half as high, the side walls of which have two holes per side wall which correspond to the transverse holes (5) of the rods (4). 7. Modular shelving system according to 5. and characterized in that guide rails are attached to the connections (18) on the inner surfaces of the side walls of the bodies, on which drawers (15) slide. 8. Modular shelving system according to 1. and 5., characterized in that hinges and stops are attached to the connections (18) on the inner surfaces of the side walls of the bodies, which receive the doors and rear walls. 9. Modular shelving system according to claims 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7., characterized in that the front and back of the shelf are identical. 10. Modular shelving system according to one of the preceding claims characterized in that spacer sleeves (16) are arranged between the side wall (2) and the rod (4) 11.
