Abstract

The service trolley has at least one storage surface (9-12;9a-12a) about which on one side of a cabinet (3), a vertical axis (8), from one side of a glass door's (4) oriented position, is rotatably held in front of the glass door's gripping position. The multiple overlaid storage surfaces may be rotatably held on the common vertical axis. On both sides of the cabinet there may be at least one stack plate (9-12;9a-12a) arranged on the vertical axis. The stack plates may look arc-shaped in perspective. The overlying stack plates may be connected together in the vicinity of its free ends.

Description

Serving trolley

The innovation concerns a serving trolley for providing drinks and snacks in seminar rooms, which has a cabinet with a glass door arranged on a chassis.

Serving trolleys of the above type are currently used in seminar rooms and are well known. The glass door of the cabinet has proven to be advantageous because it allows the drinks and snacks stored in the cabinet to be seen from the outside. The disadvantage of such glass doors, however, is that it is relatively easy to hit obstacles when moving the cabinet, which can lead to scratches or even destruction of the glass door.

In order to be able to move such serving trolleys comfortably through narrow glass doors, they are usually relatively small when viewed from above. This inevitably brings with it the disadvantage that there is relatively little space on the serving trolley to place drinks or snacks taken from the cupboard.

The innovation is based on the problem of designing a serving trolley of the type mentioned above in such a way that its glass door is as well protected as possible from damage when the serving trolley is moved and that, despite requiring little floor space, it offers as much space as possible for storing drinks or snacks.

This problem is solved by the fact that the serving trolley has at least one storage area,

which is pivotable about a vertical axis arranged on one side of the cabinet from a position aligned to the side of the glass door to a position reaching in front of the glass door.

The swiveling shelves on such a serving trolley have a dual function. When swiveled out, it extends the serving trolley sideways so that the shelf is easily accessible. For a person standing in front of the serving trolley, it creates the impression of a counter instead of a narrow column. When swiveled in, the shelf extends over the glass door of the cupboard, so that it then forms a ram guard that prevents the glass door from hitting an obstacle when moving the serving trolley. Thanks to its design, the serving trolley can be placed against a wall for self-service or used freely in the room as a service counter. The cupboard can be designed as a refrigerator and have electric lighting so that the products stored in it are clearly visible.

When using the serving trolley as a counter, there are particularly many storage options if, according to a further development of the innovation, it has several storage areas arranged one above the other, which can be pivoted together around the vertical axis. Furthermore, this design protects the glass door particularly well.

It is particularly advantageous if a vertical axis supporting the shelves is arranged on both sides of the cabinet and if the shelves face each other with their free ends when they are swivelled in front of the glass door. For use in seminar rooms, it is advantageous if the cabinet is the height of a normal counter and has a shelf on the top. This means that the serving trolley is not only a means of transporting drinks or snacks, but also forms a counter at which these drinks or snacks can be consumed.

The serving trolley is particularly easy to push if, according to another design of the innovation, a railing runs along two opposite sides of the storage surface at a distance from its edge.

Now, the basic structure of the serving trolley according to the innovation is first described with reference to Figure 1. This has a cabinet 3 on a chassis 1, which has wheels 2, which is designed as a refrigerator and has a glass door 4 on its front. Its top is covered by a storage plate 5, which has a railing 6, 7 on two opposite sides, which runs a short distance from the edge of the storage plate 5 and serves to make it easy to push the serving trolley.

A vertical axis is arranged on both sides of the cabinet 3, of which only one vertical axis 8 can be seen in the two figures. This vertical axis 8, like the other vertical axis that cannot be seen, supports semicircular shelves 9, 10, 11, 12 arranged one above the other. The shelves of the vertical axis that cannot be seen were positioned in the two figures with 9a, 10a, 11a and 12a. In Figure 1, the shelves 9-12 and 9a - 12a reach over the glass door 4 of the cabinet 3 and thereby protect it. Near their free ends, the shelves 9-12 and 9a - 12a that are arranged one above the other are each connected by

a vertically aligned rod 13 penetrating them.

Figure 1 also shows a handle 14 on the vertical axis slightly above half the height of the serving trolley. Together with a corresponding handle on the other vertical column, it is possible _to lift the serving trolley relatively easily over obstacles.

In the position of use shown in Figure 2, the shelves 9-12 and 9a - 12a have been swung away from the glass door 4. This creates a counter-like structure and the glass door 4 can be opened freely.

Protection claims 1. Serving trolley for providing drinks and snacks in seminar rooms, which has a cupboard with a glass door arranged on a chassis, characterized in that the serving trolley has at least one storage surface (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) which is pivotable about a vertical axis (8) arranged on one side of the cupboard (3) from a position aligned to the side of the glass door (4) to a position reaching in front of the glass door (4). 2. Serving trolley according to claim 1, characterized in that it has several storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) arranged one above the other, which are jointly pivotable about the vertical axis (8). 3. Serving trolley according to claims 1 or 2, characterized in that a vertical axis (8) carrying at least one storage surface (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) is arranged on both sides of the cabinet (3) and that the storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) point towards one another with their free ends in their position pivoted in front of the glass door (4). 4. Serving trolley according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) are circular-arc-shaped when viewed from above. 5. Serving trolley according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the superimposed storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) are each connected to one another near their free ends. 6. Serving trolley according to claim 5, characterized in that the free ends of the storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a) are connected to one another by a rod (13) penetrating these storage surfaces (9 - 12; 9a - 12a). 7. Serving trolley according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cabinet (3) has the height of a conventional counter and has a storage shelf (5) on its upper side. 8. Serving trolley according to claim 7, characterized in that a railing (6, 7) runs on two opposite sides of the storage plate (5) at a distance from its edge. 9. Serving trolley according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a handle (14) is arranged on each of the two vertical axes (8) below the storage plate (5).
