Baustoff für die Anlage von Reitplätzen und anderenBuilding material for the construction of riding arenas and other
The invention relates to a building material for fixing and drainage for the construction of riding arenas and temporarily created open spaces such as parking lots, fairgrounds, footpaths and the like on open ground and meadow areas.
On the one hand, such open spaces should be well paved and thus safe to walk on or drive on at all times, especially even in rainy weather or after heavy rain showers or during thaws. On the other hand, however, their natural appearance, i.e. open ground or meadow, should also be preserved. In order to achieve the desired paving with simultaneous drainage of such open spaces, it is known to provide them with several layers of different materials, for example layers of gravel, crushed stone, sand, earth or the like. In practice, however, it has been shown that this layer structure does not allow sufficient drainage in very wet weather, so that particularly heavily used areas such as riding areas, parks and fairgrounds are often completely soaked after heavy rainfall, puddles and mud holes appear and the areas are only partially usable. In addition, the current procedure is complex.

The invention is based on the object of creating a building material with which it is possible to create riding arenas, parking lots, fairgrounds, footpaths and the like in a simple manner so that they are always solid and largely dry.
The object is achieved according to the invention by a granulate made of aerated concrete, whereby the aerated concrete is produced by mixing finely ground quartz sand, lime, cement, natural gypsum and aluminum powder, making this mixture into a paste with water, molding and then steam hardening, and whereby quartz sand, lime and water are each used in an amount of over 10%, cement and natural gypsum each in an amount of 1 to 10% and aluminum powder in an amount of less than 1%. The granulate with a grain size of 5 to 15 mm has proven to be particularly advantageous.
The aerated concrete granulate according to the invention has excellent drainage properties. The granulate is spread in a single layer on riding arenas, usually 10 to 15 cm thick, on the surface of the open space, if necessary after digging drainage channels beforehand. For temporary measures, a layer thickness of a few centimeters is sufficient. Any top layer can then be applied to stabilize the surface, depending on the intended use of the open space. An area created in this way is completely drained after a short time, even in the event of prolonged and heavy rainfall, and can also be driven on or ridden on without any problems.
Das Granulat eignet sich daher auch beson-The installation of the paved surface is simple and easy to accomplish, because the granulate made of aerated concrete has a low specific weight of about 0.4 kg/dm 3 . It is therefore easy to transport and distribute. Due to its structure, the granulate interlocks so well with each other that compaction of the fill is not necessary. The granulate is therefore particularly suitable for

Eventuell auf der Freifläche zurückbleibende Reste an Granulat verursachen keinerlei Schaden und können daher unbedenklich dort verbleiben.particularly good for creating open spaces that are needed for a short period of time or just for a single event. Another particularly advantageous feature is that there are no disposal costs for the used granulate when it is cleared away. It can be used as pasture or field fertilizer. Any granulate residues left on the open space do not cause any damage and can therefore remain there without any risk.
The granulate is simple and inexpensive to produce, as it can be obtained by grinding aerated concrete waste that is generated during the production of aerated concrete blocks or aerated concrete slabs.
The invention is explained in more detail using an embodiment shown in the drawing. The drawing shows a cross-section of the structure of a riding arena using the aerated concrete granulate according to the invention.
Parallel drainage channels 2 of around 10 cm wide and 15 cm deep are dug out of the created open space 1 (leveled ground) at intervals of 3 to 10 meters in the direction of drainage. Granulate 3 made of aerated concrete is then applied to the ground in a layer of around 10 to 15 cm, depending on the nature of the ground, and is also filled into the drainage channels 2. The layer does not need to be compacted. Sand or polyurethane or another covering material that is commonly used for this purpose is then poured onto this layer as a top layer 4. The single-layer substructure made of granulate 3 made of aerated concrete enables complete and effective drainage of the riding arena, so that it can be ridden well and safely even after heavy rainfall. The top layer 4 made of sand or polyurethane, together with the substructure, gives the riding arena ideal cushioning properties.
