Description

According to the state of the art, single-row multi-unit packaging consists of kraft cardboard with a handle for bottles with crown caps or screw caps.

When the flat blanks are machine-processed into multi-piece packaging, the handle part of the blank is positioned vertically upwards after application to the bottles.

Known solutions use a combination of grooves and scoring in the cardboard in the lower area of the handle in order to be able to fold the handle after application.

This solution is not safe, so that during further machine processing of the multi-piece packaging both in boxes and on trays, problems can occur due to handles not being folded down completely.

These disadvantages of the prior art are avoided by the multi-piece packaging with carrying handle of the invention.

Avoiding carrying handles according to patent specification DE 40 34 069 C2 does not eliminate these difficulties. In practice, this makes handling multi-row carriers more difficult.

It is the task of the multi-piece packaging with handle of the invention to secure the handle before further processing so that

trouble-free further processing of the multi-piece packaging in compartment boxes as well as on trays is possible.

The multi-piece packaging with lockable carrying handle of the invention is defined in claim 1. The subclaim claims an alternative, preferred embodiment of the multi-piece packaging according to claim 1. The example of a machine-based production of the multi-piece packaging (1) with a lockable handle part multi-piece packaging (4) is described below.

Beverage crates or corrugated cardboard/plastic trays with product bottles already in them in the formations 3 x 4 (12 bottles), 4x5 (20 bottles) or 4x6 (24 bottles) are fed to a packaging machine continuously or in cycles.

The product bottles arranged in formation are in particular bottles with crown caps, such as beer bottles with screw caps, or sparkling water bottles, or with capsule caps, such as wine bottles. In this application, multi-piece packaging units are formed by mechanically placing multi-piece packaging (1) with a lockable handle part (4) onto the product bottles already in the aforementioned transport containers.
