Description

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Mitralklappenrekonstruktionsring. The invention relates to a mitral valve reconstruction ring.

Mitral valve reconstruction rings are used in cardiac surgery when mitral regurgitation or mitral valve insufficiency is present.

In mitral regurgitation with normal leaflet mobility, the dilated annulus is the cause of an insufficient coaptation area of the leaflets, which prevents permanent closure during the entire systole.

dert. In mitral valve insufficiency, on the other hand, there is excessive leaflet mobility, which is caused by an elongation of the tendon threads or their rupture.

Until now, rigid and flexible mitral valve reconstruction rings (Carpentier or Duran ring) have been used, which lead to an increased ability to close the mitral valve by reducing its ring. The problem here is that due to the limited number of available rings, it is not possible to adapt them precisely to the respective anatomical conditions. The Carpentier ring also has the problem of insufficient inclination ability.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a mitral valve reconstruction ring that can be adapted intraoperatively to the respective spatial conditions.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a design with two curved brackets and two struts connecting them to one another, wherein the struts consist of a material that allows a bending that causes a shortening of the struts.

The material of the struts is chosen so that the shortening of the struts caused by the bending is permanent, but the struts themselves are flexible. The struts can also be attached to the brackets in an articulated manner to allow tilting relative to the bracket.

In a preferred embodiment, one bracket is curved more than the other bracket.

&ogr; _& _

Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the struts extend at an angle to each other between the brackets.

Die Erfindung wird anhand einer Zeichnung erläutert. Dabei zeigt:The invention is explained using a drawing. It shows:

Fig. 1 den Rekonstruktionsring vor dessen Implantation, Fig. 1 the reconstruction ring before its implantation,

Fig. 2 die insuffiziente Mitralklappe, undFig. 2 the insufficient mitral valve, and

Fig. 3 den in die insuffiziente Mitralklappe implantierten und an die jeweiligen Verhältnisse durch Kröpfen der Streben implantierten Rekonstruktionsring .Fig. 3 the reconstruction ring implanted into the insufficient mitral valve and adjusted to the respective conditions by bending the struts .

The mitral valve reconstruction ring shown in Fig. 1 consists of two curved brackets 10, 12 and two struts 14, 16 connecting them. One bracket 10 is more curved than the other bracket 12, and the struts 14, 16 do not run parallel in the design shown, but form an angle with each other.

In order to achieve an adaptation to the anatomical conditions of the insufficient mitral valve shown in Fig. 2, the struts 14, 16 are bent as shown in Fig. 3 using suitable forceps, which shortens the distance between the brackets 10, 12. Since the depth of the bending of the struts, which can be seen in Fig. 3, determines the extent to which the distance between the two brackets 10, 12 is shortened, intraoperatively

A precise adaptation to the respective conditions can be carried out in a rational manner.

The further proposed articulated design of the struts - either by attaching them in an articulated manner to the brackets 10, 12 or by a flexible design in the area of the connection to the brackets 10, 12 - enables the desired ability to incline the mitral valve reconstruction ring following the movement of the annulus.
