Fahrzeuge mit Hinterradlenkung stellen die absolute Ausnahme dar und waren Anfang 1996 bei Fahrrädern überhaupt nicht auf dem Markt vertreten (vgl. z.B: encycleopedia 1996). Eine Hinterradlenkung bei Dreirädern gilt unter Konstrukteuren als außerordentlich schwierig und problematisch. Ein Nachlauf bei gelenkten Rädern, der bei vorderradgelenkten Rädern für einen guten Geradeauslauf sorgt, gilt als nicht realisierbar, weil nicht lenkbar: Der Lenkeinschlag bei Kurvenfahrt bewirkt in einem solchen Fall, daß die Wirkung der Fliehkraft verstärkt wird und das Fahrzeug über das kurvenäußere Rad abkippt. Ohne Nachlauf kommen die gelenkten Räder aber bei höheren Geschwindigkeiten - auch bei Einsatz von Lenkungsdämpfern und auch bei Geradeausfahrt - unweigerlich in ein die Fahrstabilität erheblich beeinträchtigendes Flattern.Vehicles with rear-wheel steering are the absolute exception and were not available on the bicycle market at the beginning of 1996 (see encycleopedia 1996, for example).
