0 The innovation relates to a connecting profile for connecting plate-shaped building elements, in particular to window or door frames inserted in openings of building structures, whereby the connecting profile has a receiving pocket running in the longitudinal direction and delimited by two edge webs running through the longitudinal direction for receiving a front end area of the plate-shaped building element and on its side facing away from the receiving pocket a fastening web with at least one molded protruding fastening foot for insertion and fastening in a correspondingly 0 designed receiving groove of the window or door frame and the two edge webs have different heights from one another.

Such connecting profiles for connecting plate-shaped components are known and are used, for example, for connecting window sills or roller shutter boxes that are open on one side and are composed of several plate-shaped components to window or door frames.

The disadvantage of the known connection profiles is that they are tailored to a specific plate-shaped component to be connected in terms of their dimensions, particularly in the area of the receiving pocket, and the connection made with them has only a low strength, so that the connection of the plate-shaped component can be lost under unfavorable circumstances.

The aim of the innovation is therefore to propose a universally applicable connection profile which allows a particularly firm and permanent connection of the plate-shaped component and is easy to handle and can be used for a wider range of plate-shaped components.

The innovation is also intended to create an opportunity not only to improve the known connections of plate-shaped building elements, such as roller shutter boxes and window sills, but also to open up other possible uses, for example when constructing box windows.

This object is achieved with an innovative connection profile according to the characterizing features of claim 1.

The innovation proposes a connection profile for connecting 0 plate-shaped building elements, in particular to window or door frames inserted in openings of building structures, in which the edge web with the greater height is designed as a clamping spring and is bent in the direction of the other edge web and in which the receiving pocket is narrowed in the area of its opening compared to the bottom of the pocket, so that the plate-shaped building element can be pushed into the receiving pocket and clamped in place by spreading the clamping spring.

By designing one edge web as a clamping spring, which is spread out when the plate-shaped component is inserted, a particularly firm and permanent fit of the inserted plate-shaped component in the new connection profile is achieved, and the resilient clamping spring allows the fastening of plate-shaped components with different material thicknesses in the same connection profile, so that a reduction in the required different sizes of the new connection profile for the connection of a wide variety of plate-shaped components is achieved.

The new connection profile can therefore be used, for example, as a connection profile for a roller shutter box that is open from below. To do this, the connection profile is attached with its fastening feet molded onto the fastening bar in a corresponding receiving groove in the window or door frame along its top side, for example by snapping it in, gluing it or screwing it in, and the roller shutter box that is open at the bottom is inserted with one of its plate-shaped side parts into the receiving pocket while spreading the clamping spring and clamping it at the same time.

The new connection profile for connecting plate-shaped building elements enables not only this application but also a new way of constructing box windows. Such box windows with one window on the inside of the room and one window on the outside, which are inserted together into an opening in the building, often have to be replaced, especially when renovating old buildings. By using the new connection profile, this renovation work can now be carried out particularly effectively and easily. To do this, the new box window frames are inserted into the opening in the building and the new connection profiles are attached to each frame so that the

respective receiving pockets with their openings facing each other. It is then possible to insert panel-shaped building elements into the receiving pockets as cladding for the inner masonry reveals, for which, for example, commercially available plasterboard, plastic-coated chipboard or even PVC boards can be used. It is therefore possible to completely clad the inner masonry reveals by simply using a continuous board and to achieve a clean visual impression, instead of having to plaster the masonry reveals as before, which brings with it a considerable reduction in the amount of dirt generated during renovation and a significant reduction in the effort involved.

The new connection profile can also be used advantageously if a new window of normal construction depth with only one window frame is installed after a box window has been removed. This makes it possible to cover the areas of the wall or masonry reveal not covered by the window frame, which are now visible due to the removal of the box window and were previously usually unplastered, on the room side using a similar cladding, such as plasterboard etc., and to connect these to the window frame using the new connection profile. This in turn means that less or no plastering work is required when replacing a box window, and therefore less dirt is generated during renovation.

To increase the vapor diffusion tightness of the joint between the panel-shaped building element and the window or door frame, which is closed with the 0 connection profile according to the innovation, it is suggested to attach a sealing tape in the receiving pocket on the bottom of the pocket and/or on the inside of the edge web opposite the clamping spring. In this way, the connection profile according to the innovation enables a particularly thermally insulated and vapor diffusion-tight connection of the panel-shaped building elements to the window or door frame. The sealing tape can be used in both pre-compressed and

be inserted into the new connection strip in a relaxed state. In the case of the pre-compressed sealing tape, this expands to the surface after the plate-shaped component is inserted, while in the case of a relaxed sealing tape, it is compressed when the plate-shaped component is inserted into the receiving pocket. In both cases, sufficient contact pressure of the sealing tape on the plate-shaped component and thus a good seal is guaranteed. If the sealing tape is attached to the inside of the locking web opposite the clamping spring, the sealing tape supports the clamping effect of the clamping spring on the plate-shaped component in addition to its heat-insulating properties, since after the plate-shaped component is inserted, it also exerts a clamping force on it that acts opposite to that exerted by the clamping spring.

The innovative connection profile can be easily adapted to the most varied designs of window or door frames as well as connections of plate-shaped building elements. In an advantageous embodiment it is proposed that the fastening feet are formed at right angles to the fastening web and extend essentially parallel to the pocket base. With such a design, the innovative connection profile can be easily inserted into the receiving grooves usually formed on window or door frames along the outer circumference and fastened therein, with the receiving pocket then being aligned essentially parallel to the respective masonry reveal in which the window or door frame is inserted together with the innovative connection profile.

Of course, it is also possible to attach the connection profile to the 5 window or door frame using other types of connection, for example screwing or gluing, so that a wide variety of profile connection designs are possible within the scope of the innovation.

In order to enable the plate-shaped component to be easily inserted into the receiving pocket of the new connection profile while simultaneously spreading the clamping spring, the free end of the clamping spring is advantageously bent slightly outwards.

In order to make the manufacture of the new connection profile as simple as possible, it is proposed that it be made from a thermoplastic material.

The innovation is explained in more detail below by examples in the drawing.

According to Fig. 1, the connecting profile 1 has a longitudinally continuous receiving pocket 10, which is delimited along its pocket base 11 on one side by a protruding edge web 12 and on the other side by a further edge web, which has a greater height than the edge web 12. This edge web with the greater height is designed as a clamping spring 13 and is bent in the direction of the edge web 12, so that the receiving pocket 10 is narrowed in the area of its opening compared to the pocket base 11.

On the side of the connecting profile 1 facing away from the receiving pocket 10, a fastening web 14 is formed, from which two fastening feet 15 extend at right angles, essentially

parallel to the pocket bottom 11 of the receiving pocket 10. The shape and design of the fastening feet 15 depend on the prevailing fastening options and can be changed as desired.

As also shown in Fig. 2, the connecting profile 1 with its protruding fastening feet 15 formed on the fastening web can be inserted into a correspondingly designed receiving groove 30 of a frame 3 of a window or door, whereby gluing or screwing is also possible, so that the receiving pocket 10 of the connecting profile 1 is aligned on the frame 3 in such a way that a plate-shaped component, for example a roller shutter box or a window sill, can be inserted with its front end area into the receiving pocket 10. Since, as already mentioned, the receiving pocket 10 is narrowed in the area of its opening compared to the pocket base 11 as a result of the course of the clamping spring 13 bent towards the edge web 12, the plate-shaped component inserted into the receiving pocket 10 is held particularly firmly and permanently in the receiving pocket 10. In order to insert the plate-shaped component 10, it is necessary to spread the clamping spring 13, which narrows the opening of the receiving pocket 10, so that due to its elastic properties it subsequently exerts a restoring force as a clamping force on the inserted plate-shaped component. In order to facilitate this insertion of the plate-shaped component into the receiving pocket 10, the free end 13a of the clamping spring 13 is also bent outwards, whereby the clamping spring 13 automatically slides onto the surface of the plate-shaped component when it is inserted into the receiving pocket 10 while spreading.

In addition to Fig. 1, Fig. 2 shows that in order to increase the thermal tightness and in particular the vapor diffusion tightness of the connecting joint between the plate-shaped element inserted into the receiving pocket 10

and the frame 3 into the receiving pocket 10 on the pocket bottom 11, a sealing tape 4 can be applied, which is compressed when the plate-shaped component is inserted and causes a vapor diffusion-tight seal of the connecting joint.

As can be seen from Fig. 4, this sealing tape 4 can not only be attached to the pocket bottom 11 of the receiving pocket 10, but it is also possible, as shown with reference number 4a, to attach the sealing tape along the inside of the edge web 12 in the receiving pocket 10. In this case, an inserted plate-shaped component in the receiving pocket 10 is not only subjected to a clamping force on one side by the clamping spring 13, but the sealing tape 4a compressed by the plate-shaped component also exerts a clamping force on the plate-shaped component, so that in addition to a good seal, an even more secure fit of the plate-shaped component in the receiving pocket 10 is also achieved.

Of course, in the spirit of the innovation, it is also possible to combine the two arrangements of the sealing strip 4, 4a described in Fig. 2 and Fig. 4 with one another, so that a sealing strip 4, 4a is fastened in the receiving pocket 10 both on the pocket bottom 11 and on the inside of the edge web 12.

The connection profile 1 shown in the figures can be used, for example, as a roller shutter box connection profile for roller shutter boxes that are open from below. The clamping spring 13 has a spring effect so that the profile is held particularly firmly in the receiving pocket and the profile can be used for different panel thicknesses, for example from 10 to 13 mm, which are common on the market. In this way, a connection profile 1 with a spring-loaded clamping bracket 13 covers two profiles that have previously been available on the market, either from 10 mm or

13 mm plate thickness, so that a significant simplification of stock management is achieved.

Another possibility of using the connection profile 1 shown in Fig. 2, for example, is shown in the figure using the example of a box window.

As can be seen from this Fig. 3, the box window consists of two frames 3a, 3b of two windows (not shown in detail) inserted into an opening in a building 5, as is a widespread construction method, particularly in old buildings. If, in the course of renovating such old buildings, it becomes necessary to replace the box windows previously used with a new box window with frames 3a, 3b, the use of the connecting profiles offers a particularly advantageous option for cladding the inner masonry reveals on the building 5.

For this purpose, a connecting profile la, Ib is inserted into each receiving groove 30 of the two frames 3a, 3b, for example inserted, glued or screwed, with the receiving pockets 10 of the connecting profiles la, Ib facing each other. It is then possible to insert a plate-shaped building element, for example a plasterboard 2, into these mutually facing receiving pockets, so that the entire inner masonry reveal of the building structure 5 is covered by this plasterboard 2 and the otherwise usual plastering of the inner masonry reveal with the corresponding accumulation of dirt becomes completely superfluous, so that a considerable simplification of the installation of such box windows with the connecting profiles la, Ib is achieved. In order to achieve the most advantageous visual impression possible, the connecting profiles la, 1b are designed in such a way that the straight edge web 12 is arranged on the visible side, 5 while the curved clamping spring 13 is arranged on the rear side and is completely covered by the plasterboard 2 inserted into the receiving pockets.

Furthermore, the previously described arrangement of the fastening feet 15 at right angles to the fastening web 14, so that the fastening feet 15 extend essentially parallel to the pocket bottom 11, ensures that the connecting profile la, Ib rests smoothly on the frame 3a, 3b without disturbing joints and edges. The connection of the connecting profiles la, Ib thus created between the frame 3a, 3b and the plasterboard 2 thus creates a particularly advantageous visual impression.

The resulting connection between the plasterboard 2 and the frame 3a, 3b is also particularly strong and durable. As already explained above, when the plate-shaped component, here the plasterboard 2, is pushed into the receiving pockets 10 of the connecting profiles 1a, 1b, the respective clamping spring 13 is spread out of its position narrowing the receiving pocket 10 in the area of the opening, so that after the plasterboard 2 has been pushed in, it exerts a restoring force as a clamping force P on the surface of the plasterboard 2 due to its elastic properties and creates a permanent and firm connection.

In order to increase the thermal tightness and also the vapor diffusion tightness in the joint between the receiving pocket 10 of the connecting profiles la, 1b and the inserted plasterboard 2, a sealing tape 4 is also attached to the pocket bottom 11 of the receiving pockets 10 in the manner already described, which is compressed when the plasterboard 2 is inserted and creates a vapor diffusion-tight and highly heat-insulating seal, so that the relevant RAL assembly guidelines and standards can be met without any problems.

The cladding of the masonry reveal shown in Fig. 3 can be made, for example, with plasterboard of 9.5 mm or 12 mm thickness, both of which are commercially available. In addition, plastic-coated

Chipboard or PVC boards can be used depending on the prevailing conditions.

In a similar way, when replacing an old box window with a new window of normal construction depth, it is also possible to cover the now visible and usually unplastered areas of the masonry reveal with panel-shaped construction elements made of plasterboard or similar on the side facing the room and to connect them to the window frame with the connection profile in the manner just described. Here too, less or no plastering work is then required, which means that less dirt is generated during such a renovation.
