Description
The invention relates to a coronary stent according to the preamble of claim 1.
A coronary stent is a vascular prosthesis made of biocompatible material. The stent or vascular prosthesis is used to expand blood vessels or other body openings and to keep the vessels in the expanded state, for example to treat vascular stenosis. The stent is brought into the respective position using a catheter that can be inserted into the body. The catheter has an inflatable balloon section on which the stent is placed for the purpose of insertion in the body. After the stent has been positioned using the catheter in the vessel section to be expanded, the balloon section is expanded so that the stent expands and thereby expands the vessel section to the desired size. The stent anchors itself in the vessel wall and remains in the patient's body.
Such a stent is known, for example, from WO 9603092 A1. The wall of the stent consists of a bridge structure, which in the case of the known stent has meandering bridge patterns running parallel to one another, which are each connected to one another via bridge arches. In the known stent, the vertices of the bridge arches each point alternately in different directions, i.e. are alternately offset by 180° from one another. This results in a flexible bridge structure of the wall of the stent body, but the flexibility, especially in the longitudinal direction of the body, is in need of improvement.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a coronal stent of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1, whose flexibility and thus attachability is further improved.
This problem is solved by the features of claim 1.
This ensures that the stent according to the invention can be pushed together even better, especially in the longitudinal direction, when pushed onto the balloon section of a catheter, which in turn improves the attachment of the stent to the site in the patient's body that is to be expanded.
Die Unteransprüche haben vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung zum Inhalt. The subclaims contain advantageous developments of the invention.
Further details, features and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of an embodiment with reference to the drawing.
Es zeigt:It shows:
Fig. 1 eine schematisch stark vereinfachte Darstellung des Grundaufbaus eines erfindungsgemäßen Stents undFig. 1 is a schematically simplified representation of the basic structure of a stent according to the invention and
Fig. 2 eine der Fig. 1 entsprechende Darstellung der Stegstruktur der Wand des Stents gemäß Fig. 1.Fig. 2 is a representation corresponding to Fig. 1 of the web structure of the wall of the stent according to Fig. 1.
Fig. 1 shows the basic structure of a stent I according to the invention, which has a flexible, tubular body 2 with a wall 3, the front view of which is shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 2 verdeutlicht den Aufbau einer Stegstruktur 4, die die Wand 3 bildet, wobei die Stegstruktur 4 jedoch in Fig. 1 zur Vereinfachung der zeichnerischen Darstellung nicht imFig. 2 illustrates the structure of a web structure 4 which forms the wall 3, whereby the web structure 4 is not shown in Fig. 1 to simplify the drawing.
einzelnen gezeigt ist. Daher wird nachfolgend betreffend den Aufbau der Stegstruktur 4 ausschließlich auf Fig. 2 Bezug genommen, welche den expandierten Zustand der Stegstruktur zeigt.is shown individually. Therefore, with regard to the construction of the web structure 4, reference is made exclusively to Fig. 2, which shows the expanded state of the web structure.
Depending on the size of the stent I, the web structure 4 has a multiplicity of meandering web patterns arranged next to one another, of which the web patterns 5 and 6 are representatively identified with reference symbols in Fig. 2. As shown in Fig. 2, the web patterns 5, 6 run in a meandering shape and are aligned in such a way that their axes A5 and Ag, which are perpendicular to the cylinder wall surfaces of the body 2, are arranged parallel to one another.
The web patterns (of which only web patterns 5, 6 are referred to below) are each connected to one another via web arches 7, whereby in Fig. 2 four web arches are provided with the reference number 7, representative of all web arches of the web structure 4.
As can be seen from the drawing, the web arches 7 are aligned according to the invention in such a way that their vertices S all point in the same direction. In the case of the graphic representation according to Fig. 2, this means that all vertices S of the web arches 7 are directed upwards, so that the opening of the hairpin-shaped web arches 7 are oriented downwards according to the graphic representation in Fig. 2.
Each web pattern 5 and 6 is made up of a large number of web loops that are lined up one after the other in one piece to form the meandering course of the web patterns 5, 6. The web arches each have straight webs and a curved web section connecting them to one another. In Fig. 2, the webs 8, 9 and the web section 10 are provided with corresponding reference numbers.
The meandering course results in the web section being arranged alternately on one side and then on the other side of the respective axis A 5 or Ag.
Die Fußpunkte P1, P2 bilden hierbei die Verbindungspunkte des jeweiligen Stegbogens 7 mit den jeweiligen Stegschleifen benachbarter Stegmuster 5, 6, wobei die Fußpunkte P1, P2 jeweils im Bereich des Stegabschnittes 10 in die jeweilige Stegschleife übergehen .Furthermore, Fig. 2 shows that each web arch 7 has two foot points P 1 , P 2 , which form the end of the web arch opposite the vertex S. The foot points P 1 , P 2 form the connection points of the respective web arch 7 with the respective web loops of adjacent web patterns 5, 6, wherein the foot points P 1 , P 2 each merge into the respective web loop in the area of the web section 10.
The coronary stent 1 according to the invention constructed in this way has very good flexibility in the longitudinal and transverse directions and can therefore be installed in a simple and safe manner in the vessel or body opening to be expanded. It goes without saying that the stent 1 is made of biocompatible material, in particular stainless steel.
