For cutting firewood for fireplaces and stoves, dangerous circular saws or chainsaws are generally used for free cutting, if necessary using simple sawhorses.

With the wood sawhorse according to the invention, wood of around 5 to 20 cm thickness can be stacked, clamped and then sawn through 5 to 6 times from top to bottom using a chainsaw or other commercially available saws, for example, without re-clamping the wood. In this way, one person can quickly chop up around 2 m of firewood from branches, twigs or trunks, e.g. for a fireplace or stove, in around 30 minutes without any outside help, without risking significant injury.

The firewood to be cut is stacked in the log sawhorse and pressed together into a firm bundle using a chain (item 16) and tension spring (item 15) or similar tension and tension elements as well as the lever (item 6) via the pivot point (item 19). Due to the different distances between the individual elements, several cuts can be made without any problem without the firewood having to be re-clamped.

The wooden beam (pos. 14) serves as protection for the saw after cutting through the wood.

By moving the support (item 3) and the pivot points (item 19), the wood sawhorse can be adapted to all commercially available blade lengths of saws.

The advantage of this design is that several pieces of wood of different dimensions can be sawn into manageable pieces in one operation.
