The invention relates to a device for supporting a swimming movement with a waterproof flat element and means arranged on this element : for detachable attachment to the human hand. Such a device, hereinafter referred to as a swimming aid, enables easier and faster swimming.

Swimming aids are already known from the advances in technology, which consist of a stiff paddle, preferably made of hard plastic, and an opening for the human hand. Some known swimming aids increase the forward movement when swimming by increasing the resistance area through the paddle. This makes it possible to swim faster while reducing the number of swimming movements. However, these known swimming aids have the disadvantage that a very precise execution of the arm stroke is necessary when swimming in order to prevent the _swimmer from being slowed down by the paddle, especially when returning the arms to the starting position. When swimming breaststroke, for example, the swimmer must bring the paddles together exactly under the body after executing the rowing movement in order to prevent the swimmer from being slowed down when moving forward.
