Fixing element for cables or lines

State of the art

The invention relates to a fixing element for cables or lines, in particular for electrical cables to be laid in milled slots in the wall or in the plaster.

When installing electrical systems in living areas, the electrical cables are nowadays laid invisibly in the wall wherever possible. In order to largely rule out accidents caused by improperly hammering nails etc. into the finished wall, the cables are preferably laid under plaster. To do this, special tools are used to cut slots into the masonry to accommodate the cable(s). After the subsequent plastering, the cables are mechanically well protected in the wall.

Until the plastering is done, the cables are usually fixed in place with plaster. This method is very time-consuming and material-intensive. Small amounts of plaster must be mixed continuously, preferably by an assistant, and then used immediately. The cables often have to be held in the slot until the plaster is set in order to prevent them from bulging or jumping out due to internal tension in the cable.

It is also known to fix the cables using hammer hooks or nails. This type of fastening carries the risk of cable damage from the nail or hammer. In some cases, the

The invention is based on the problem of creating a simple and safe, interim cable fastening when laying cables in milled slots, which is cost-effective, protects the cables to be laid and only requires one worker.

Solution

This problem is solved according to the invention in that the fixing element is U-shaped, the U-web is matched to the respective width of the slot in the wall or in the plaster and the two U-legs bent essentially at right angles from the U-web have a length less than or equal to the depth of the slot, and wherein the fixing element can be inserted into the slot in a force-fitting and/or form-fitting manner.

Benefits achieved

The fixing element according to the invention provides a cost-effective and quick way of fixing one or more cables in milled slots before cleaning. The fixing element can be pressed into the slot with light thumb pressure on the U-shaped web, i.e. without using a tool, whereby the two U-shaped legs hold the cables between them and sufficiently prevent them from slipping out by holding them in place with a positive and/or force fit on the slot walls. the wall, which is not a significant factor in terms of price due to its cost-effective production. A second person is not required.

Further development of the invention

Further embodiments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 10.

In a particularly advantageous design, the fixing element is made of an elastic plastic or recycled plastic. Plastic is suitable not only because of its inexpensive availability and easy processing, but also because of its electrical insulating properties. Even if a fastening nail or similar attached to an undamaged cable sheath is not live, plastic still offers additional safety against electrical accidents.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the U-shaped web of the fixing element is slightly convexly curved. To press the fixing element into the milling groove, the U-shaped legs are slightly pressed together, whereby the curved U-shaped web generates the lateral pressure force required for the hold.

According to another embodiment, a lateral contact pressure is alternatively generated by the U-legs being bent outwards before use and being pressed together at their ends when inserted into the milling groove.

To increase the holding force, the outer sides of the U-legs are advantageously shaped like sawtooths or barbs.

Cable in a slot, a nail can be driven into the masonry through a central hole in the U-shaped web of the fixing element, but this is normally not necessary.

The U-web can also be made more rigid by diagonally running stiffening ribs, which also increases the contact pressure and thus the hold in the milling groove.

The fixing element can also be designed in such a way that when pressure is applied to the U-web, it snaps into a concave position, which significantly increases the pressure force on the slot walls.

The geometry of the U-web and the U-legs is, according to a preferred embodiment, rectangular.

According to this embodiment, the fixing element 1 consists of a plastic body with a square U-shaped web 2 and two U-shaped legs 3 angled from it. Polystyrene or recycled polystyrene is a suitable plastic. The U-shaped web 2 is rectangular in shape, convexly curved and provided with diagonal stiffening ribs 4. The angles 3 are preferably rectangular. They are shaped like sawtooths or barbs on the outside in order to exploit the positive locking in addition to the frictional locking due to the elasticity of the fixing element 1.

In the example, when inserting the fixing element 1 into a milling slot (not shown in detail), the two U-legs 3 are slightly pressed together with the fingers, causing the U-web 2 to bulge further. In the milling slot, the U-legs 3 are then pressed against the masonry by means of the elasticity of the U-web and, to a certain extent, the U-legs 3, whereby the teeth or barbs formed on the outside also hook behind any unevenness that may be present, thus significantly increasing the pulling forces.

Of course, the U-legs can also be shaped in such a way that the legs clamp themselves when inserted into the milling slot, which makes pressing them together by hand unnecessary.

Furthermore, the U-shaped web can be dimensioned in such a way that when pressed into the milling slot with the thumb, the pre-formed convex curvature snaps over the dead center into a slightly concave curvature, which greatly increases the pull-off strength that can be achieved. This type of design is particularly helpful when laying cables in the plaster at a later date, as it prevents the fixing elements from protruding above the plaster surface.

The dimensions of the fixing element 1 are adapted to the width and depth of the milling slots. The main requirements can be covered with just a few sizes.
