Sales and/or display shelf

The innovation relates to a sales and/or display shelf with the features of the generic term of claim 1.

Shelves of this type are widely available on the market with minor variations, e.g. from the company TEGO-Metall.

A typical feature of the known shelves is that they have vertically continuous uprights of, for example, 2 m in height, to which additional shelf elements are individually attached. The shelf base is thus initially formed from individual parts using these additional shelf elements. The intermediate plates, which serve as support plates for goods carriers, are also arranged vertically one above the other in relatively large numbers and are only loosely hung. As a rule, only one upright is provided per grid size, apart from a side end, so that the intermediate plates are hung between the upright on one grid size and the next upright of the next grid size. For this purpose, the uprights have double holes to enable hanging on both sides. The overall structure is relatively unstable and does not easily allow a free-standing arrangement. Depending on the type of intermediate plates, shelves suspended as goods carriers or goods carrier baskets suspended in holes in perforated plates are provided, which are made of wire or sheet metal, for example. In addition to the already mentioned lack of stability, the well-known shelf also requires a relatively long assembly time at the installation site.

The innovation is based on the task of designing a sales and/or exhibition shelf of the type mentioned in such a way that it is stable and, in particular, can be set up as a freestanding unit and requires only a relatively short assembly time for installation.

The task is fulfilled in a sales and/or display shelf with the features of the preamble of claim 1 by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The innovation is characterized by the creation of compact modules that are stable in themselves and that simply need to be plugged together at the installation site per half or full grid length. In line with the innovation, such a plug-in connection can easily be designed in such a way that when looking at the shelf, the division of the uprights into vertically connected upright elements is not noticeable to the observer if the plug-in elements are completely sunk into the upright elements, thus achieving a direct vertical connection of the peripheral surfaces of the upright elements. When the uprights are plugged together from upright elements, the same stability can be achieved as with continuous uprights. In addition, the stability is increased by providing one upright element on each side per grid dimension or - in the case of shelves based on half a grid dimension - per half a grid dimension, and the intermediate plates and, if necessary, also the parts used to form the shelf base are already prefabricated in the compact module to form a rigid unit. Depending on requirements, the individual parts in the compact module can be welded, screwed or otherwise permanently fixed together. A typical feature of the new shelf is the fact that all internal standpipes along the entire width of the shelf create a parallel double-tube arrangement that no longer requires the complex double-hole perforation that was previously required.

If necessary, the shelf can be angled in the connection area of the full or, if applicable, half a grid dimension in free-standing shelving arrangements. Furthermore, since the intermediate plates are no longer just loosely suspended in the erected shelf, but represent rigid elements of the individual compact modules - which is usually achieved by screwing them - the intermediate plates themselves make a decisive contribution to the stability. The same applies to the bottommost compact module with regard to the shelf base that is included, which forms a rigid base for the entire shelf.

Even if a structure consisting of more than two compact modules arranged one above the other is possible without taking the upper end strip into account, it is usually possible to get by with just two compact modules arranged one above the other for a typical installation height of approx. 2 m for sales and/or display shelves, the lower of which then includes the standard base and which are otherwise dimensioned vertically in such a way that the extension of their standpipe elements takes place over their entire height, while the intermediate plates above the shelf base each have the same vertical grid dimension.

The vertical expandability of the compact modules can be achieved by separately provided plug-in connection elements. Preferably, however, the plug-in elements are rigidly connected to the standpipe elements, preferably by welding. In this case, only one plug-in element is required at one end of each standpipe element. The arrangement according to claim 3 is preferred in order to enable the upper compact module to be placed particularly easily on the lower one that has already been set up.

The entire shelf can be arranged in pairs, for example on both sides of compact modules, in which the intermediate plates essentially only extend along one surface. By arranging the intermediate plates in a triangular shape with the help of third standpipe elements protruding forwards, according to claim 5, not only is another dimension of the presentation of the goods obtained, but also a decisive further internal stiffening of the entire shelf via the third standpipes additionally formed in front of the side standpipes, which, like the side standpipes in the fully assembled shelf, are arranged vertically continuous and load-bearing by plugging into one another.

The side standpipe elements or the side standpipes formed from them can, as is already the case conventionally, be made of rectangular tubes. The third standpipe elements or the third central standpipe constructed from them are expediently made of round tubes. This not only has optical advantages, but also serves to prevent the risk of injury on the open sides of the shelves facing the viewer or customer.

The new shelves can be easily constructed from powder-coated metal elements, with the powder coating allowing for great variability in the color scheme.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using schematic drawings of several exemplary embodiments. They show:

Regardless of whether the vertical shelving units below are based on a full or half grid dimension, all designs have the following in common:

There is a lower compact module 2, an upper compact module 4 and an upper end strip 6, which is designed as a light element.

The shelf base 8 is included in the lower compact module 2. The shelf base has the shape of a housing prefabricated as a rigid cuboid with a flat horizontal extension, which forms the foot part of the shelf and can therefore be provided with individual feet 10. A drawer 12 that can be pulled out to the front is included in the shelf base 8 of each lowest compact element 2. It is often sufficient to include this drawer only in the lowest compact modules with the full grid dimension.

On both sides of each compact module 2, 4 and 6, a standpipe element 14 made of powder-coated rectangular profile steel extends over the entire height and thus, in the case of the lowest compact module 2, also over the height of the shelf base 8. These standpipe elements 14 complement each other to form a standpipe that runs the entire height of the shelf and rises upwards at the two rear corners of the shelf base, i.e., those facing away from the viewer. Corresponding standpipe elements 16 of short height are arranged at the other corners of the shelf base 8, running over its height and are supplemented by an upper shelf plate 18 made of powder-coated sheet steel and corresponding side plates (not specified in more detail) to form the rectangular housing that supports the shelf base 8.

In the embodiment of Fig. 2a to 2c, which is based on half the grid dimension, third standpipe elements 20 are provided further centrally and offset forward on the shelf base, which form an isosceles triangle with respect to the two lateral standpipe elements 14.

In the case of the embodiment of Fig. la to 1c, the lateral standpipe elements are rigidly stiffened to one another by intermediate plates 22, here perforated plates, which run through a surface, whereby the intermediate plates are designed as support plates for goods carriers, either for hanging shelves (not shown) or in the design shown as perforated plates. It is possible to weld the intermediate plates to the standpipe elements; a mutual rigid screw connection is preferred and considered sufficient.

In the case of the shelf bases based on half the grid dimension according to Fig. 2a, 2b and 2c, the intermediate plates 22 that run through in the lateral direction are replaced by two partial plates 24 each, which run from the third standpipe element 20 to one or the other lateral standpipe element 14 and are also rigidly nested between these standpipe elements.

Using the example of these partial plates 24, Fig. 3 shows that partial plates 24 of the same vertical grid dimension are provided in the lowest compact module 2 and the upper compact module 4, which are not directly connected to one another, but are supported in their common surface by the respective laterally adjoining standpipe elements 14 and 20. The same applies when one considers the intermediate plates 22 of the embodiment of Fig. 1a to 1c related to the entire grid dimension, where the intermediate plates are nested between the two lateral standpipe elements 14 and are rigidly clamped, but are not connected to one another.

As can be seen in Fig. 1c, the intermediate plate 22 merges into the surface of the shelf plate 18 via a bevel 26, which not only appears to be visually advantageous, but also promotes stability. In the case of Fig. 2c, i.e. an element based on half a grid dimension, the intermediate plate 22 is missing at this point. For additional stiffening, a cross tube 28 is used in the area of the rear of the shelf base between the two lateral standpipe elements 14 and, if appropriate but not absolutely necessary, also 16.

Plug-in elements 30 are used to plug the vertical standpipe elements 14 and, if applicable, 20 together. The plug-in elements are completely embedded in the respective standpipe element when assembled. It is advisable to weld the plug-in pipe elements to the upper compact module in order to plug them into an open end at the top of the respective standpipe element 14 or 20 of the lower compact module.

In contrast to the side standpipe elements 14, the third standpipe elements 20 are powder-coated round tubes.

The feet 10 can be screwed into the standpipe elements 14 and 16 located at the corners in the area of the shelf base 8 in order to be able to adjust the shelf in the usual way, even on uneven surfaces.
