would be complex to print and would lead to problems when gluing that cannot be overcome by economic means.

For some time now, posters of the 18/1 standard size mentioned above have also been hung in appropriately large display cases with transparent windows. These can be free-standing display cases on stands several meters high, which show advertising posters on two opposite surfaces. However, the economical assembly and disassembly of the posters in the display cases poses problems. Although the individual parts of the respective poster can be put together or glued together before being clamped or hung in the display case, a poster of this size can no longer be hung smoothly in the open display case even with a slight wind. For this reason, in current practice, the poster, prepared in one piece, is rolled up onto a roll, this is placed on the floor of the display case, the top edge of the poster on the roll is clamped into a rail and the horizontally held rail is pulled upwards using a built-in lifting mechanism, preferably with the display case closed, so that the poster finally hangs spread out in the display case and is weighted down at the lower end by a corrugated core of the roll.

The procedure described, which is used in practice, allows a poster to be properly displayed in the display case even in strong winds, but it is difficult to attach the upper end of the poster to the rail, especially because the upper edge of a 3 to 4 m wide poster cannot be handled from one position; a walk-on platform is usually required to attach the poster. Significant problems also arise when removing the poster, because it does not automatically wind itself onto the roll or its core when the rail is lowered. The person responsible for dismantling the poster must therefore open the display case to dismantle the poster and wind the poster up by hand. In unfavorable wind conditions, this can also cause significant problems due to the overall size of the poster.

In the advertising showcases of the type mentioned above for large posters or 18/1 posters or similar, difficulties have repeatedly arisen when attaching the upper edge of the poster to the support rail connected to the lifting mechanism, because the edge easily tears during this work. These problems have so far been overcome by fitting the upper edge of the poster with a glued-on clamping band when preparing the poster roll, which is inserted into a

The corresponding clamping band must be snapped into place on the support rail. This made installation easier, but recycling problems arose when the old paper poster was destroyed because of the glued-on plastic clamping band.

The invention is based on the task of reducing the effort involved in assembling and disassembling the poster in the advertising display case mentioned above; in particular, it should be possible for the operator to assemble and disassemble the poster without having to change their position along the poster wall. The poster should therefore be able to be assembled and disassembled in one and the same position on the ladder using a stepladder. The assembly itself should be simplified and accelerated. Furthermore, the poster should be able to be attached to the lifting mechanism without aids that lead to recycling problems.

The solution according to the invention for the advertising display case of the type mentioned above consists in that both the core of the roll and the support rail have mechanical clamping means for directly picking up and fastening the lower or upper edge of the poster after it has spread out, whereby the

The support rail is to be fastened to the upper edge of the poster when the roll is being prepared, that rotatably mounted receiving bodies are provided next to the display case floor for the rotationally fixed insertion of the longitudinal ends of the core, that the core can be releasably inserted into the receiving bodies against an axial spring force acting in the direction of the roll axis, that the rotatable receiving bodies have pulleys, that a shaft is mounted next to the display case ceiling that is axially parallel to the roll with pulleys that track or are aligned in pairs with the pulleys of the receiving bodies, that a belt is placed around each pair of pulleys and a drive is assigned to the belt transmission thus formed, and that a rod for hanging the support rail is attached to the belt between the belt strands of the two belts facing the respective protective pane.

According to the invention, the support rail becomes part of the prepared poster roll. This means that the upper edge of the poster can be clamped to the support rail in the workshop without the need for special plastic fasteners. The lower edge of the poster can also be clamped to the roll or core mechanically, e.g. using clamping rails. Since the invention requires a

Furthermore, according to the invention, the roller is preferably electrically driven - in synchronism with the support rail or its suspension rod - so that the display case can remain closed both when the poster is being stretched out and when it is being rolled up for dismantling. Nevertheless, the rolled-up poster can be inserted into the rotatably mounted receiving bodies provided according to the invention by utilizing the axial spring force with one hand, especially by grasping the middle of the poster roll.

The invention therefore means that the operator can mount the poster from one and the same position. The operator only needs to set up a stepladder in the middle in front of the advertising display case, then standing on the ladder he can dismantle and set down an earlier poster and take a new poster from a standby position and mount it in the display case and spread it out to its final position with the help of the (preferably electric) drive.

According to a further invention, the core of the roll should have a pin at one longitudinal end that can be pressed axially against a spring force relative to the body of the roll for insertion into a pin hole of a rotatably mounted receiving body, and a conical receptacle with a self-centering mechanism should be provided at the other longitudinal end of the roll for insertion into the rotatably mounted receiving body there. This mechanism makes inserting the prepared poster roll (including the support rail) much easier than the state of the art. The poster roll only needs to be pressed with one longitudinal end into one bearing against the axial spring force and held with the other longitudinal end in front of the associated receiving body. When the spring force is released, the roll then snaps into place, centered and ready to roll.

According to a further invention, in order to achieve a pre-tensioning of the poster that is useful for smooth clamping, it can be advantageous if the core of the roll consists of a sleeve that holds the poster and a shaft that is coupled to the longitudinal ends connected to the holding bodies, and if the sleeve can be rotated relative to the shaft against a circumferential spring force. The support rail can be hung on the rod attached to the straps. When the support rail is moved upwards and the poster is spread out, the pre-tension is maintained so that the spread out poster is stretched taut even in unusual temperature or humidity conditions.

According to a further invention, it can be advantageous to reduce the cost of production if a single coil spring is provided inside the sleeve of the roll core to generate the axial spring force and the circumferential spring force. For example, the roll sleeve that holds the poster can be coupled to the inner roll shaft via the spring. In addition, when combining axial and circumferential spring force, an axially movable pin or the like can be provided at one longitudinal end of the roll, which can be coupled to the roll core via the spring.

Preferably, the drive of the belt transmission is assigned to the shaft provided on the ceiling of the showcase, in particular built into the shaft. An electric motor can be provided as the drive. The advertising display case according to Fig. 1, designated as a whole with 1, consists of a frame 2 with a panel 4 running around the poster image 3. The panel 4 covers the parts of the mechanism described below on the floor 5, on the ceiling 6 and on the side walls 7 of the display case 1. The poster image 3 is protected against the effects of wind and weather with a transparent pane 8, preferably made of glass or plastic. The pane 8 is located in a cover 10 that can be pivoted about a hinge 9 according to Fig. 2 and that can enclose the panels 4.

The aforementioned cover 10 can be swung open about the hinge 9, which is preferably attached to the horizontal ceiling 6, as far as is absolutely necessary for mounting and dismantling a poster. As a rule, the display case 1 stands on a stand 11 several meters high, so that it is in the field of vision of passers-by, especially drivers, but cannot obstruct traffic. Common advertising display cases are designed to be large enough to accommodate posters measuring 2.5 x 3.5 m. However, the invention is not limited by the size of the poster. However, the measures according to the invention are generally only useful if the size of the poster exceeds a dimension that can be managed by an operator without special aids, even in the event of wind. If the advertising display case is mounted at a great height, e.g. on a high-rise building, correspondingly larger poster dimensions can be provided. The size is then actually only limited by the tensile strength of the poster material.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to Fig. 2 to 4. A prepared poster roll 12, consisting of a core designated as a whole by 13 with a sleeve 14, a poster 15 wound onto the sleeve and clamped onto the outer or, after hanging, upper edge 16 of the poster.

During assembly, the support rail 17 is locked in place near the display case floor 5 in the receiving bodies 18 and 19 that are rotatably mounted on the side walls 7. Both receiving bodies 18 and 19 can be mounted in ball bearings 20 on the respective side wall 7. In the embodiment according to Fig. 3, the receiving body 18 has a receiving hole 21 for the rotationally secure reception of a pin 22 of the roller core 13. The pin 22 is mounted in the sleeve 14 so that it can be moved in the direction of the axis 24 of the core 13 against the force of a coil spring 23. An external cone is mounted on the longitudinal end of the sleeve 14 opposite the pin 22.

According to the invention, a support rail 17 is clamped to the poster 15 wound onto the core 13 or to its outer edge 16 during preparation, e.g. in the workshop. According to the invention, each of the receiving bodies 18 and 19 has a pulley 31 or 32 coaxial with the axis 24. Furthermore, a shaft 33 with pulleys 34, 35 that track or align with the pulleys 31, 32 in pairs and are coaxial with the shaft 33 is provided adjacent to the display case ceiling 6. A belt 36 or 37, in particular a toothed belt, is placed around each of the pairs of lower and upper pulleys 31, 34 or 32, 35, thereby forming a belt drive. The aforementioned rod 30 for hanging the support rail 17 is preferably clamped or fastened between the outer belt strand 39 of the two belts 36, 37 facing the respective protective disk. The rod 30 should be positioned a few hand widths above the pulleys 31, 32 before inserting the poster roll 12 into the support bodies 18, 19, so that after inserting the poster roll 12 into the associated bearings, the poster 15 is pre-tensioned against the force of the spring 23 by lifting the support rail 17 up to the rod 30. After locking the support rail 17 to the rod 30, the door or the lid 10 of the advertising display case 1 can be opened.

When dismantling, the poster is first moved downwards in the opposite direction, only then is the cover 10 opened (so that the wind cannot interfere even during dismantling); the support rail 17 is released from the rod 30, and due to the pre-tension, the remaining part of the poster 15 (below the rod 30) rolls up automatically on the roller 12. This can be removed from the storage position by axially pressing in the spring 23.

When assembling using the invention, the following must be observed:

A. Preparing the poster

a) Align the poster so that there is approximately the same distance from the end of the core 13 on the left and right;

b) Insert poster 15 evenly into the area of the clamping rail 27

c) First tighten the grub screws 28 in the middle and at both ends, then the rest;

d) Roll up the poster evenly,

e) Insert the outer edge of the poster evenly into the area of the clamping rail 27 of the support rail 17 and tighten the grub screws 28 in a similar way to before.

B. Installation of the poster roll 12 prepared with support rail 17 in the display case 1;

a) Allow the old poster to unroll until the end position is reached (e.g. 25 cm of the poster will still be visible); when unrolling using an electric drive 38, switching on and off can be done using a push button switch;

b) open and lock the lid 10

c) Remove the support rail 17 from the rod 30 (the rest of the poster 15 winds itself up due to the tensioned coil spring 23);

d) grasp the old poster roll 12 with both hands at the same time, press it completely with one longitudinal end against the force of the spring 23 into the receiving body 18 and swing it out of the bearing body 19 with the other end;

e) Put down the old poster and take the prepared roll 12 with the new poster.

f) Insert new poster as in point d, but in the opposite direction; first insert into the receiving body 18 against the resistance of the spring 23, then swing into the other bearing (always with the smallest possible angle); the poster roll centers itself automatically due to the conical bearing on the receiving body 19;

g) Pull the support rail 17 with the attached poster 15 upwards evenly and fasten it to the rod 30 using the hooks 29 (the poster is pre-tensioned by the spring 23 provided in the core 13);

h) Close the cover 10, lock it and operate the drive 38, e.g. with a push button, until the poster 15 hits the upper end of the display case.
