Description

The invention relates to a holding band for package inserts, in particular for medicine bottles, which can be placed over the bottle cap while holding the package insert.

Due to the legal requirement that medicines dispensed to patients must be accompanied by an information leaflet containing important information on the use of the respective medicine, it has previously been usual to dispense a medicine bottle and the information leaflet together in a folding box. This procedure is material-intensive and costly.

Well-known alternative solutions are caps that can be put over bottle caps and that contain the packaging leaflet. These caps are made of plastic and are placed over the

The German utility model with the roll number G 94 17 719.8 describes a holding band for information leaflets that can be put over the cap of a bottle. The information leaflet is folded so that it is placed on the inside of a cylinder-shaped hollow body and, after the hollow body is put over the bottle cap, is firmly anchored between the bottle cap and the inside surface of the hollow body. Edge segments of the cylinder-shaped hollow body that can be pressed inwards over the bottle cap prevent the inserted information leaflet from slipping out. The lower edge sits completely on the bottle shoulder. Holding tabs that extend from the lower edge of the hollow body are fixed to the bottle by means of the bottle cap.

This holding band for package inserts has various disadvantages. The assembly, i.e. inserting the package insert and attaching it to the bottle, is time-consuming and costly and is therefore only suitable for smaller runs. The tolerance range for the thickness of the inserted package insert is small. This means that it is necessary to use different thicknesses of package inserts.

The invention is based on the object of providing a holding banderol, the use of which during packaging is time- and cost-effective, which has the advantage of securely fixing the package insert to the drug bottle and has a tolerance range for the thickness of the package insert.

The object is achieved according to the invention with a holding band for information leaflets, which consists of a cylinder-shaped hollow body that is open at the top and bottom and can be put over a bottle cap, the casing of which has at least one holding tab that is attached and can be bent at the lower edge that can be placed on the bottle shoulder and can be gripped under the bottle cap, the lower edge having two opposite recesses that do not sit on the bottle shoulder. The upper edge of the hollow body ends approximately at the upper edge of the bottle cap.

The holding band according to the invention can advantageously be made from a flat piece of material which, after the shape has been drawn, is cut out or punched out to the correct shape and then, practically in the same way as the production of folding boxes, is formed into a hollow body in the shape of a cylinder and connected along the length of the casing.

Hollow bodies have both a round and a square cross-section. As a rule, the cross-section is determined by the shape of the bottle cap. The diameter of the hollow body is chosen so that the leaflet is held securely by the clamping effect of the recesses according to the invention on the one hand and the inherent tension of the folded leaflet on the other.

This form of placement of the package leaflet allows for a larger tolerance range for the package leaflet, since the hollow body can be deformed towards an oval cross-section.

In addition, this placement has the advantage that the insert is directly visible from the customer’s perspective and is not covered by the holding banderole.

Further advantages of this invention are, according to claim 3, that the hollow body is made of paper, cardboard or similar materials and therefore tool costs are comparatively low. Disposal of materials containing cellulose is also unproblematic.

Another significant advantage of the holding band according to the invention is that it also serves to ensure authenticity, since the bottle cannot be opened without destroying the band. It also ensures that the information leaflet cannot be lost during transport. Another advantage is the possibility of inserting the information leaflet by hand. This eliminates the need for additional, time-consuming checks if

in particular, it would be assembled by one supplier.

The space-saving placement on the bottle cap above the bottle shoulder also advantageously reduces the volume of the overall package, particularly compared to packaging with a folding box.

The possibility of delivering and storing the banderol in a flat state results in further advantages in terms of delivery and storage volume.

In the following, the invention is explained in more detail using an embodiment and a drawing.

In the illustration according to Fig. 1, a cylindrical hollow body 1 is shown in a square shape. On a lower edge 4 of a jacket 6, two opposing retaining tabs 2 are formed, pointing inwards. These two retaining tabs 2 hook in the area below the bottle cap or on the bottle neck. On the lower edge 4 of the jacket 6, between the opposing retaining tabs 2, two recesses 3 are formed, also opposite one another. These recesses 3 do not rest on the bottle shoulder. The recesses 3 serve to accommodate the ends of a folded leaflet, which is placed over the head of the

bottle cap and is held in place by the clamping effect that is created. The size of the recess 3 is selected so that the ends of the leaflet are firmly clamped between the holding band and the bottle cap or bottle neck.

Fig. 2 shows the complete representation of the holding band made of a flat material with a square cross-section. After cutting or punching, the square cylinder-shaped hollow body is formed along the fold lines 7, with an adhesive tab 8 being connected, for example glued, to the opposite long side of the casing 6.
