Ein kastenartiger Behälter ist durch Scheidewände 16 (Fig. 4) in eine Anzahl Felder (Fig. 1, 2, 3 und 7) geteilt. Bei dem dargestellten Beispiel handelt es sich um die Felder 2, 3, 4 .... 15 und bei demjenigen nach Fig. 2 um die Felder 30, 34 und 35 sowie schließlich bei der Ausführungsform nach Fig. 7 um die Felder 22, 23 und 24. In jedem Feld sind Glühlampen 17 untergebracht, und zwar sind alle Lampen, welche zu einer Gruppe von Feldern gehören, parallel an eine gemeinsame Leitung 20 gelegt, welche von einer von der Stromquelle 19 gespeisten Hauptleitung 18 abgezweigt sind; jedoch können auch je nach Bedarf Einzellampen, beispielsweise die im Feld 15 befindlichen, in eine besondere Zweigleitung 21 eingeschaltet sein. Bei der in Fig. 2 abgebildeten Ausführungsform ist zwischen die einzelnen bogenförmig begrenzten Felder 34 und 35 ein mit Schriftzeichen bedecktes Feld 30 eingelassen, welches seine besonderen Lampen 31 neben den übrigen Feldlampen 36 hat. Die ständig oder mit Unterbrechung leuchtenden Lampen 28 versehen alsdann einzelne oder alle Gruppen von Feldern mit einem .indirekten matten Licht, während die Lampen der Felder selbst bei ihrer Einschaltung ein helleres Licht erzeugen. Die Rückstrahlung durch die Felder selbst kann noch dadurch wirksamer werden, daß der eigentliche Boden 1 des Feldes eine gewellte Oberfläche 38 hat, wie auch weiterhin die Scheidewände selbst gewellt sein können (Fig. 8).
