Waldbränden, ist es das Bekämpfungsmittel der Wahl. Bei Waldbränden wird z. B. Löschwasser von Flugzeugen oder Hubschraubern aus auf die Brandherde geworfen. Da das Wasser sehr schnell verdunstet, ist der Löscheffekt unbefriedigend. Es ist bekannt, zum Löschwasser ein Schaummittel zuzugeben. Als Schaumbildner werden z. B. hydrolysierte Proteine verwendet. Bei der Erfindung wird dem Feuerlöschwasser ein hoch wasseraufnahmefähiges Kunstharz zugesetzt. Derartige Kunstharze, die das Vielfache ihres Eigengewichts an Wasser aufzunehmen in der Lage sind und mit Wasser eine Art Gel bilden, sind an sich in anderen Zusammenhängen bekannt. Ein hierfür in Frage kommendes Kunstharz ist nach einer Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ein Gemisch aus Acrylsäure und Acryl-Acyl-Amin.
