The multichamber or tetraid packing (1) consists of materials suitable for foodstuff packing or for other uses, with each individual packing as a 3-sided truncated pyramid, the side faces (2) of which meet over the roundings as well as over the widening roundings connected to them and so form a hollow body which is closed off by the top surface (4) and base surface. Meist erschöpft sich jedoch die Herstellung der verwendeten Umverpackungen darin, dass quaderförmige oder zylindrische bis konische Umverpakkungskörper in den Umlauf gebracht werden, die mit relativ großem Aufwand in PET-Folien eingeschweißt sind oder über die Deckelgestaltung bzgl. des überstehenden Randes formstabil miteinander verbunden sind. Gerade bei letzterem ist es der Fall, dass der Vorteil der für den Nutzer ansprechenden Ausbildung und Handhabbarkeit mit dem Nachteil einer schlechten Stapelbarkeit in großen Losgrößen erkauft werden muss. An der Basisfläche schließt sich ein umlaufender fester Rand an, wobei sich in den Eckpunkten nach außen verlängernde Laschen befinden, die in ihrer Mitte - quer zu ihrer Länge - knickbar sind.
Die Laschen dienen neben der Realisierung einer leichten Öffnung der Mehrkammer- oder Tetraidverpackung dazu, dass daran benachbarte weitere Mehrkammer- oder Tetraidverpakkungen lösbar angeschlossen sind.
