Dies ist leicht erklärbar in den grundsätzlichen Materialeigenschaften von Wachsen. Bekannt sind Bildstöcke, Totenmasken usw., die Jahrhunderte ohne wesentliche Einbußen überdauert haben. Den hohen Ansprüchen spezieller Holzanwendungen z.B. im Instrumentenbau gerecht zu werden, sollen vorzugsweise „holzharte" reine PE-Wach se, bei 2000C niederviskose Formulierungen und Schmelzpunkten 1300C z.B. Luwax AH der Fa.
