Such safety rope roll-out systems are used by firefighters to secure other rescuers when searching unknown, usually smoke-filled rooms. If visibility is poor, the person searching in the room can use the rope to find their way back to the entrance, and in the event of danger, the person searching can be quickly found by the person securing the person remaining at the entrance.

-In conventional safety line unwinding systems, the line exits the housing opposite or to the side of the attachment. Due to the tensile forces, with this arrangement of the rope exit, the housing moves away from the body of the belayer in the direction of pull when the rope runs out. When the rope runs out, the housing swings accordingly.

Due to the rope guide, the entry and exit of the rope is difficult for the belayer to control.

Also, systems with a rope length of up to 6 meters are usually only offered. When searching normal, furnished rooms (around 4x4 meters), the room cannot be searched completely with a rope length of 6 meters, as it is usually necessary to work around obstacles and not to search free space diagonally or similar.

The inventions mentioned in the claims are based on the problems that

The safety line unwinding system consists of a two-part plastic housing (A) (two side parts) and is attached to the safety belt or waist belt of a compressed air breathing apparatus using a safety snap hook in accordance with EN 362 that can be securely latched into the fastening opening (B). The guide tube (D) for the safety line wound up inside the housing emerges below this opening (B) on the fastening device (C). The line is attached to a commercially available spring winder (E) - familiar from roller shutter belts. The spring tension increases as it runs out, keeping the line taut.
