Abstract

The device (3) is designed as a pipe shape assembled of six vertical wires and a number of horizontally positioned wires as required by the height of the plant (2) to be supported. The pipe shape can be divided longitudinally and spread apart at the lower end in order to offer a firm support and to facilitate the lower ends of the vertical wires to be inserted into the soil away from the center of the plant container (1) to avoid damaging the roots.

The key feature of the innovation is that the trellis consists of two approximately half-shell-shaped framework parts that are mirror-symmetrical to each other with respect to the longitudinal center plane of the trellis and that are detachably connected to each other in their upper area and designed to be spread apart from each other in the base area.

This special design has the advantage that, due to the ability to spread the two half-shell-shaped frame parts, it is possible to adapt the trellis to any pot diameter or any planting width. The use of the new trellis is of course not limited to use in pots. Such a trellis can of course also be used outdoors. The support width of the trellis can be easily adapted to the respective planting conditions by spreading the two frame parts apart.

For the sake of simplicity, the application of the trellis to a potted plant (tomato plant) is explained, although the innovation is not limited to this.

The advantage of the trellis for potted plants is that the tips of the trellis can now be inserted into the soil of the pot at the outermost edge, thus avoiding damage to the centrally located root.

The design of the two half-shell scaffolding parts as mirror-symmetrical parts has the additional advantage that they are particularly easy to handle and assemble, and require little storage space. When stored, the two half-shell scaffolding parts can be inserted into each other, which means that only the space required for a single half-shell scaffolding part is required. For assembly, the two half-shell scaffolding parts are taken apart,

inserted into the ground according to the desired span or the existing pot diameter and then connected to each other by detachable connectors in the upper area.

There are several different designs for the connection in the upper area, all of which should be covered by the innovation concept.

In a first preferred embodiment, the two scaffolding parts are detachably and pivotably connected to one another in the upper area, namely in the area of the adjacent vertical struts, via clip connectors in order to achieve easy adaptation to different desired spans.

In a second preferred embodiment, it is provided that the two scaffolding parts are also pivotally connected to each other in the upper area, but the clip connectors are arranged in the area of horizontal connecting struts.

Such a pivoting connection can be achieved, for example, by the straight and horizontal connecting rods of the two scaffolding parts touching each other in the upper area and being connected to each other there via respective clip connectors.

However, the invention is not limited to this. Instead of a pivoting connection of the two scaffolding parts in the upper area, a fixed connection of these two scaffolding parts can also be made using clip connectors, tension or clamp connectors.

Such a fixed clamping or tensioning connection is used primarily when the two scaffolding parts have already been inserted into the ground and only need to be connected to each other in the upper area.

The innovation therefore provides in one embodiment a pivoting connection between the two upper scaffolding parts and in the other embodiments a fixed connection that cannot pivot.

To produce these two types of connection, all detachable connectors are used that are able to connect two round profiles together in a rotating or non-rotating manner. In addition to the previously mentioned clip connectors, the tension or clamp connectors mentioned above, which connect the associated round metal profiles to one another in a frictional manner, are also used.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual claims, but also from the combination of the individual claims with one another.

All information and features disclosed in the documents, including the abstract, in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention insofar as they are new compared to the prior art, individually or in combination.

The innovation is explained in more detail below using drawings that merely show one way of implementing it. The drawings and their descriptions reveal further key features and advantages of the innovation.

In the embodiment 1, a tomato plant 2 bearing corresponding fruits is arranged in a pot 1. A trellis 3 is inserted into the soil of the pot 1, which according to the innovation consists of two trellis parts 4, 5 that are mirror-symmetrical to the central longitudinal axis of the trellis 3.

Each scaffolding part 4, 5 has metal rods 7, 8, 9 extending in the longitudinal direction, which form a mutual distance and are arranged parallel to one another. These metal rods 7, 8, 9 are each connected to one another via semicircular arches, which are arranged parallel to one another at regular distances. This structure thus produces a tower-like scaffolding part 4, which has an approximately cylindrical outer circumference when closed (see Figure 3 with minimal span).

However, the innovation is not limited to this. It can also be provided that the two framework parts 4, 5 taper in their upper area, so that - in deviation from Figure 3 - a tower-like trellis 3 with an upper, conical tip is produced.

The pivoting connection between the scaffolding parts 4 can now be achieved by having the vertical bars 7, 7 and 9, 9 of each scaffolding part lie parallel to one another in the upper area and are connected to one another by means of clip connectors 13.

In this way, the two framework parts 4, 5 can be spread apart and brought together in the direction of the arrows 14, 15 and in the opposite direction. 30

They are therefore designed to be pivotable relative to one another about the upper pivot axis 12.

It is also pointed out that the lower ends of the metal rods 7, 8, 9 can be formed with corresponding tips 16 with which they can be inserted into the ground.

If the term "metal rod" was used above, this is not to be understood in a restrictive sense. It goes without saying that the rod-shaped structures shown here (metal rods 7-9 and semicircular arches 6) can be made of any material. Instead of the described round profile made of metal wire, plastic-coated metal wire, galvanized metal wire or solid plastic can of course also be used.

Claims (5)

Trellis for climbing plants, consisting of individual metal rods connected to one another, characterized in that the trellis ( 3 ) consists of two approximately half-shell-shaped frame parts ( 4 , 5 ) which are mirror-symmetrical to the longitudinal center plane, are detachably connected to one another in their upper region and are designed to be spread apart from one another in the base region. 2. Trellis according to claim 1, characterized in that the framework parts ( 4 , 5 ) are pivotably connected to one another in the upper region (pivot axis 12 ). 3. Trellis according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the connection between the scaffold parts ( 4 , 5 ) consists of clip connectors ( 13 ). 4. Trellis according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each frame part consists of three metal rods ( 7 , 8 , 9 ) arranged at a distance from one another and running approximately parallel, which are connected to one another by semicircular arches ( 6 ) arranged at a distance from one another. 5. Trellis according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that the detachable connection between the mutually pivotable scaffold parts ( 4 , 5 ) consists of clamping or tensioning connectors.
